Will the PS3 be remembered as the greatest electronics flop of all time?

Its a fair question...Sales are starting to trickle in for the month of Feb and the PS3 is dropping even futher behind...No AAA's and widespread bad press... Not to mention the lack of impact on its once former friend Japan.

Are we witnessing the colapse of what many thought would be a shoe in winner this gen...I think so....

So its failing but you wont say it...?  MGS and FFX will not carry the PS3 through this gen and you know it... I see FF support turning multiplat maybe even MGS at some point but that aside, Those franchises wont carry Sony through like last gen people want the new...

There is no collapse, the ps3 is more focused on bluray if anything which is doing alot better than hd-dvd this is the same thing they did with the ps2 push the dvd factor in then move the games also with the home presentation in the mix the ps3 is starting to pull people in. The games are coming real soon

Not saying they wont impact... Im saying they wont carry... Last gen's Sony had nothing in its way IP wise other than the very kiddie oriented Nintendo first party games... Sony had mature storylines, art, mature wow power.  Guess what??? MS is producing games like this too.  Mass Effect, Halo and the rest of the 07 library are not going to allow Sony that dominance it once had.  Sony will have good numbers with the release of those game you mentioned but it won't have the market to itself....

BluRay?!? ha ha ha ok... your right... Sony's doing just fine... C'mon man, BluRay is a disaster and so is HD-DVD...You can't make some buy something that dosent affect 90% of TV's in the world....

After the PS3 gets under $400 it's going to sell like crazy. The games will help as well, but it's the price that's hurting it more then the games I think. It's out of reach for most casual gamers. Why do you think the PS2 sold like crazy during the holidays. Because casual gamers were buying that instead of the PS3.
