Will the ps3 ever beat the xbox 360's library of games??

I have been seriously thinking about purchasing a ps3 but the only thing that's keeping me back is the fear that it is mainly used by many as a media device (I have no interest in watching bluray movies) rather than a gaming console. Also so many exclusives have been lost to the xbox 360 (DMC4, GTA4, FF13, etc.). I heard that its inevitable that the ps3 is going to outsell the xbox 360 worldwide by some time, So do you think that when the ps3 has a larger userbase than the xbox 360 we will start to see more 3rdparty exclusives on ps3 than xbox 360? If this is so then I will be more confident in buying a ps3 because it has a bright future with both 1st party and 3rd party games.

The only 360 title I'm interested in is Gears 2.

I dont care about the JRPGS.

On the other hand, PS3 has games like...

LBP.

Killzone 2.

Resistance 2.

MGS4.

I prefer the ps3 way more.

I think the ps3 does beat the 360s library.

360 released games in 05

360 ridiculously released more game in 06

released more in 07

so far, has released more in 08

Its all thanks to multiplats with no PS3 version and 360/PC games, plus MS buying out devs......

Rubbish. MGS4 is the only game that can possibly challenge the likes of Gears of War, Halo 3, Mass Effect etc.

According to VG Chartz Resistance sold more than Mass Effect.

Thats because Resistance was a launch title, and was basically the only PS3 launch title that didnt suck fuzzy maracas so people bought it since there was nothing else decent to buy. It was also the only decent PS3 game for like a year.

Mass Effect though was released at a time where titles such as BioShock, Halo 3 etc so gamers were spoilt for choice and most likely couldnt afford all the titles so had to pick one.

By the way thats just a random comparsion, I can also say that Halo 3 sold 4x more than MGS4 sold - all you did was pick the PS3s best selling game and compare it to a random 360 title.

I also made blog posts on my progress through MGS4, and said it was the best game ever. In fact i say that all the time. I'm pretty sure i said it in another thread about 20 minutes ago.

I should hope so. For months after launch, the PS3 was little more than a glorified R:FOM delivery device. Of course, now it's a MGS4 delivery device... but at least you can watch Spider-Man 3 on Bluray!

The 360 doesn't really have a true exclusive because most at least come out on a PC at some time and many come to the PS3. The PS3 has a good number of exclusives now and many to come, then they also have some well funded development studios for there games. jimm895

Though a game might not be exclusive, it's still not on the PS3, so it's not multiplat like, say, FFXIII is a multiplat... from a straight PS3 - 360 comparison, of course.
