Will the PS3 sell more consoles than the 360 in February?

What do you think? With Sony's big exclusive at the end of February will it mean better console sales than the 360?

i don't even think it'll get the #1 slot for the game ... i think Killzone will outsell any 360 game .. but some Wii tat will be top of the charts as all these new Wii owners flock to buy whatever dross is cheap.

the Hardcore PS3 owners will flock to buy it .. but everyone else will be waiting for REs Evil 5

But if Killzone is as good as everyone thinks it's gonna be then i'm guessing it'll be a long burn.

the Ps3 won't outsell the 360 again until it get's a price cut .. and that won't happen for another few months

Killzone2 has been receiving nothing but good remarks and comments so far. It's very likely to be a System Seller I'll say. But only time will tell.1xcalibur1

I'm sure PS3 unit sales will see a small bump end of Feb or early March. But the Killzone franchise just doesn't have the cache to significantly effect hardware sales of an expensive console.

Other than the enthusiast press and those of us that regularly follow gaming news, no one else knows what Killzone is.

the wii has a few other like smash bro, smg, MKwii. this is why it keeps selling it has so many mass friendly games that are not emo'd out. halo is a shooter but it has color unlike most shooter

Unless there's a surprise price-drop, the 360 will still outsell it. I think people are kind of over-estimating the recognition that Kill Zone 2 is going to have. I've heard people say, "I'll get a PS3 when RE5 comes out" but I don't think I've heard the same about KZ2.Robio_basic

march will have Halo wars (who knows hown the market will respond there) and I think itll all wear off in april.

Well...LBP (one of the best games this gen imo) didnt boost the PS3 sales im sure KZ2 will not be enough...

KZ aint no MGS4 when it comes to brand recognition. Part 1 was a flop. So right there u shouldnt expect that much of a boost.

And the biggest factor that will hinder PS3 sales.......its $400 price. A 200-400 360 sku lineup is too strong to ignore.

I understand what you're saying. At one point the Xbox 360 was at the same price point as the Playstation 3 right now. Now the PS3 console is cheaper then when it released. But not cheap enough to compete for some people's wallets when the Xbox 360(Arcade) and the Nintendo Wii are under $299. Those prices still make the PS3 look expensive to a lot of people. It's kind sad sometimes. I think if Final Fantasy XIII, Tekken 6, and Gran Turismo 5 were out right now for the PS3 along side of MGS4 things would have been different. I think people are wanting those games they reminesce about.

When you really think about it. Did you really get a PS3 for LBP, Resistance, or Motorstorm? For most people I don't think that was the "real reason" why they picked up a PS3. I think it was part of the reason; but a lot us just wanted to play those classic Playstation games we loved on the PS2 and PSOne. Did you know there are a lot of Final Fantasy fans who will not pick up a PS3 until FFXIII comes out regardless of how well some of the current games do? With games like Tekken and GT; they make the PS3 feel like Playstation. If those 3 said games were released in 2008 alongside of MGS4 I think games like Resistance 2 and LBP would have done much better during the holiday.

Even though Killzone looks really great, I don't think it'll explode like everyone intended it too. Games everyone wanted from the beginning still aren't out. Plus Nintendo and Microsoft have Sony beat with their prices.

Well I know Im not buying killzone 2 so I can already tell you it most likely wont sell all that well. Not even an inch of advertising yet and theres only a month left. Not a big name sequel, with the first game being a huge flop. Expect sales a little bit better than LBP but thats about it. RE5 being two weeks later overshadows it way too much. No doubt I will be renting KZ2 on gamefly but another generic fps (with no coop even) doesnt really get me all excited.

Then again I was surprised at how many people bought CoD:WaW which is basically an exact clone of COD4 with WW2 guns. But still CoD has a much better name than killzone.

I never thought about that, but it makes sense. Even though RE 5 isn't a FPS, it will probably sell better on the PS3 than KZ2.

OH NO!! youre not going to buy Killzone 2 so it will flop will you buy Street Fighter 4 so it will not flop or Resident Evil 5 because if you don't buy it they will flop :)

Killzone 2 is going to sell real good if you guys haven't heard it's the second most preordered game by Yahoo right now not Re5 or SF4.

Not likely ps3's best selling exclusive so far is mgs4, a game series as synonymous with playstation as gran turismo, all other exclusive titles have enjoyed mediocre to good sales and only mgs4 has had a tangible effect on hardware and i believe that was primarily in america, in the uk it was barely even a blip so if a game with serious brand recognition and heavy advertising (in the uk at least) doesnt have a huge effect what chance does the sequel to a crippled shooter with no branding and as yet extremely poor advertising. I know sounds harsh but that's the reality of it. Killzone 2 a title clearly deserving of recognition is likely to fall victim to poor marketing decisions and a poor economic climate.sonny2dap

It's about all these games now and coming the lIST of PS3 just keeps growing MGS4, Little Big Planet, Killzone 2, resistance 1 and 2 Uncharted 2 Gran Turismo, God of War as the list keeps growing and the price keeps going down like it or not PS3 will be hot.

Just for your info, not many people know about Kill Zone 2 or a lot of games that we hype. Not everyone spends a good amount of time on a website devoted to gaming news. That plus the fact that sony never advertises when they need to, makes kill zone 2 - not a console sellerULTIMATEZWARRIO
