Will the RROD carry through the x360's 4th year?

Iam disapointed in MS. Atleast they could have done was stop letting Philips make drives for them. "Disc read error" carried to this gen.

RROD just means your Xbox is broke and needs repairing. It will never end. The overheating problem will, and maybe has already stopped with the new models.

The RRoD on the Falcons is quite rare...I don't think it's much of a problem anymore. Then with the new Jaspers the problem will be minimal.

The RROD will always be around, it undoubtedly become less widespread over time, but it will always be there to ruin somebodys day.

RRoD supposedly will be fixed with the last batches of X360's hitting the stors. Can't remember what they said it was, Jasper chipset or something. According to some they have actually redesigned the entire thing so it fixed the RRoD problem. I wonder if the drive problems and eatting my games at large rate problem will be fixed as well.

it will never go away unless they replace every 360 on the face of the planet with proven fixed 360s. Until that that comes, RRoD will be with use forever!

Yeah, it's quite sad what Microsoft is doing, isn't it? What is it, the failure rate I mean, still some 15-20%. That's horrible, just horrible.

The RRoD is a error code, it will never go away.

The overheating issues are already minimal. however the RRoD shows up on a laundry list of other errors because it simply signifys a general hardware failure.

Jasper is out. The problem is unoffically cured.

HOWEVER, there are still 20 million failure prone 360's. At least the ones sold recently are fine. Doesnt matter, you know the saying: A RROD 360 is more desirable then a fully unctioning PS3. Dont believe that saying? Then why is PS3 still #3?

With older 360s out there, the problem will persist to the end. The Jasper chip hasn't proved anything yet either. The people who believe the problem will be unofficially solved must have crystal balls. Wasn't the Falcon chip-set supposed to fix this?

thats not true. RROD with falcons is as high as launch systems. The falcons didnt do anything to combat the problem which is the GPU over heating. Do you have a link to back this up?

Jaspers should fix the problem because it uses a 65nm chip isntead of a 90nm for the GPU. But they didnt totally redo anything. Just shrink the GPU that should fix it though, problem is we dont know when they will hit shelves.

Funny, everything says Falcon helped lower the occurances on RROD. The RROD is an indicator of far more than just the GPU overheating, and different heatsinks and other things were also added to help lessen RROD.

No I heavnt noticed that at all, I know people with falcons who got RROD. The Falcons just have a newer smaller CPU that dissapates less heat, doesnt do ANYTHING for the RROD problem which is the GPU. The GPU in the falcons heats up just like the launch systems. The CPU never caused RROD it is the GPU. So how would Falcons help that?

Let's not be silly. RROD is caused by any malfunction, true. But these 360's GPU's get SUPER hot and bake the motherboard and cause it to flex. which causes the heat sink to not be touching the GPU anymore and red ring. Red Ring is 99% the system over heating.

Yet, that is still only ONE of many causes of the RROD. Other causes are CPU overheating, motherboard components failing, etc etc. First, if Falcon reduces occurances of a subset of RROD causes, it reduces occurances as a whole. Your post would ONLY be correct if the GPU overheating was teh ONLY cause of RROD. Second, lowering temps of other components will also lower the ambient temp inside the console case, which in turn also ends up keeping the GPU cooler.

What you stated is true but the the 360 with the falcon motherboard was the 1st 360 to actually be reliable.

If the gpu in the falcon's gets so hot why is it my 360 with a falcon motherboard never gets hot at all even after playing for hours?? Also the gpu in the falcon motherboard has also been slightly shrunk (smaller then a 90nm but larger than 65nm).

it will continute since the x360 has a huge thermal design flaw.
