Will the Wii surpass Xbox 360 sales this year? (Poll)

I mean, think about it. Normally (notice how I say NORMALLY), the Wii should be able to pass the Xbox 360 in terms of sales this year. Especially near the holidays; that's where the Xbox 360 would get crushed, seeing how the Wii is so much cheaper in money.

But think about it. The Xbox 360 is getting a price drop this fall and Halo 3 will be out soon. Yes, I know, Halo isn't the best FPS in the world, but regardless, it sells like mad hotcakes.

My point is, will the Wii surpass Xbox 360 sales by January 1st, 2008? Or will the 360 still hold the lead with its price drop and with Halo 3?

Are you guys sure? I mean, just think of how much the fans love Halo 3...It's so overrated, but it's what the consumers want, right? Halo 2 sold like MAD on day one, and I can see Halo 3 selling even more. If Halo 3 sells 4 million units on day one, how much do you think that will affect 360 sales? If they boosted up to 15 million by the end of the year (high number, I know), could the Wii surpass that?HyperMetaDragon

It'll effect it some, but most of the Die Hard Halo fans I know, already have an Xbox 360... Most of them didn't wait for Halo to come out... and why that's not reflective of the general public I know, Im willing to venture a guess that Halo won't jump teh sales much more or anymore then Gears of War did, or any of the otehr great shooters have so far.

Also, even if 360 sales jump to 15 mill this year, with Nintendo producing and selling out 1.5 mill Wiis every month (world wide) the wii is set to sell 18 mill this year. Halo3 has a lot of work a head of it.

the wii is being sold out world wide thats why it will pass the 360 up.but i think the 360 will start to outsel the wii in the us with a price drop and when they fix the red light probs.

It did.. out sell the Wii last xmas... but that was during the after launch shortage period...

Yeah the way its going, it will be well ahead at years end.

I think if Ms dropped the price of the 360 across the board by $100 dollars it would fly off the shelves. A price drop of $50 is more realistic, but I think it all depends on what Sony does that will dictate MS's price drop.
