Will there be any Final Fantasy games for wii that..

that arent all kiddish and stuff like Chronicles. and be more like FF7 and FFX, etc.

Is square enix ever going to at least PORT over FFX for the wii.

I doubt we will see another number FF game this gen after XIII and XIII versus... but who knows Dragon quest 9 is coming out on the DS .. so anything is possible.X_Evo

I like the direction of the CC games. They have that old nintnedo FF feel to them. All they really need to do is make the CC games good.

I'm talking about the direction they are going with Nintendo now. They weren't kiddy then, but I'm glad they were put on Playstation because then they would still look kiddy. I remember seeing a magazine with pics of 7 on the N64, and it looked like kiddy garbage.

Frankly, the TC's assumptions makes me assume he has never seen any of the SS for the new CC game, and that he doesn't know anything about it at all.

Well, you could say that, but it's false.

I loved FF from 1-6. But I really hated the direction they took with 7. 8 was even worse, infact my least fav FF. I was estatic to play 9 (my fav PS FF game). And I enjoyed 10 a lot too, but left some to be desired. I didn't even own a N64 and didn't even bother with the GC until it was $99.

I was a sheep with the NES and SNES, but I jumped to cow with the PS1 and PS2. I'm a sheep again now.

The new FF's suck compared to the cl@ssic ones. If SE wants to make FF games for the wii, I hope they go for a nostalgic approach...which is kinda what they are doing with CC.

If you actually take a look at the new FFCC: The Crystal Bearers, you'll see that it's basically "Crystal Chronicles" INO. For better of worse, they've dumped the look and gameplay of the original, and are instead developing something more akin to a main-series title.

Yeah, first one sucked. This new one looks a lot better. Has a good story now, and no more of that multiplayer handheld BS, and no more fog B running around with a bubble.

The director has said that this game is a single player FF, and that they have learned from the mistakes of the past. This game is to have a full fleshedout FF storyline and is a single player jrpg.

I almost guarntee you see some of the chars in a Kingdom Hearts game in the next couple of years. This is a big game for the Wii, imo.

If BMXXX (which Nintendo allowed uncensored), Eternal Darkness, Resident Evil 0/1r/4, or Manhunt 2 can't do it, I doubt this would.

Only two are ports. Eternal Darkness and Resident Evil 0, the 1 remake, and originally 4 were all GCN exclusives. But like you said, they're not well known... and that's the real issue: It's not like there aren't any "mature" themed games, it's that they never manage to get proper recognition on more recent Nintendo systems.
