went without a single AAA game?
Remember:
Resident Evil 4 (GC): January 2005
Super Mario Galaxy (Wii): November 2007
So will any system ever match or beat this record that Nintendo consoles currently hold?

Assuming you're going by Gamespot, Warioware is AAA.
Assuming you're going by Gamerankings, Twighlight Princess is AAA.

Only two years.
Wario Ware got a 9.1 in January 07.

Who cares about arguing over Wario-Ware? Your talking about 2 years vs. 2 1/2 years, it's a long time either way.
It prolly won't be topped, Nintendo has enough money this time around to rehash more of their back catalog. 3rd partys are still dumping trash on the Wii, but sometime in the next 2 years you got to think at least one 3rd party will make one good game.
So now everyone agrees mini-games do not equal games, the only AAA game sheep technically had during that time was a rehash of RE4 () and that definitely doesn't count, lmfao.
So like I said, 2 1/2 years.
even better question is, after mario kart, what game is coming out is worth buying? is it going to be like the N64 in which only 5 or 6 titles came out throughout the lifespan of the system that were actually good, or like the gamecube in which it had 5 or 6 titles worth buying? oh wait....i see a pattern.....nevermind the wii will only have 5 or 6 titles worth buying.....lets do the math so far. 1, mario galaxy, 2. metoid 3, zelda (which shouldnt count because it came out on gamecube, 4, wii sports that came with the console, 5, mario kart 6. pikmin......
hmmmmm looks like nintendos about to hit a wall again.
also i would have added paper mario to the list but that game really was bad. (bad level design, bad graphics oh im sorry, very artistic, horrible story)

thank you, this is getting sigged
Nintendo sucked from 04-late 06.
The Gamecube hardly received anything over the course of those two years, while the PS2 puked out titles that were of higher quality than most of the ones the GC DID get.

no real ownage is using nintendos history to show how it will be after nintendo releases its big 1st party titles. i have a wii but i have no faith in nintendo releasing anything good (good as in, the masses go wild for) after mario kart, pikmin and resident evil.
sure there will be tons of shovelware, and mediocrity, but i have been burned by nintendo the past 2 consoles and i doubt after the big 1st party titles are out, there will be anything that really shines. i hope im wrong but history tells me otherwise.

.... wtf, you can't even walk in Warioware, you have no free will and are presented with activities lasting 1-2 seconds in quick succession. Face it, it's a mini game, don't even get off comparing it to an actual game.
Whether its a AAA, it doesn't really mattter, you are not going to play it for a more than an hour compared to RE4 or Halo. I think we will see a long game drought soon by Nintendo after mario kart, hopefully 3rd parties pick up the slack.
I've been wondering the same thing...[QUOTE="xXHackettXx"][QUOTE="Blackification"]How exactly are you a manticore?Kantroce
I'm a manticore and the Wii is by far my least favorite. Just because you own them all doesn't mean they're all to be equal.
Yeah but you've done a bunch of fanboy like Wii bashing threads. The Wii's great, sure it doesn't have the best 3rd party support, but Nintendo has released some amazing games this gen, like MP3, ZeldaTP, SMG (2007 Game of the Year), and most recently SSBB. How can you be complaining about AAA games just after the Wii got SSBB (9.5!).[QUOTE="Kantroce"]I've been wondering the same thing...[QUOTE="xXHackettXx"][QUOTE="Blackification"]How exactly are you a manticore?xXHackettXx

The Wii's AAAs don't impress me so much. Zelda was a GC port and pretty much like all the other Zelda games. SSBB is only a 9.0 to me at most and that's only if you have people to play with (my opinion, deal with it). SMG is alright for just straight up platforming but I've found that as I've grown older it doesn't cut it for me anymore. Nintendo refuses to grow up with me. I don't see myself enjoying hopping around on platforms for the sake of hopping around on a platform.

Oh you mean like saving Princess Peach...again? Someone get that ditz some mace already.
Anyway, I've got 35 stars on SMG before I got fed up on it. I was on the kitchen part and had just finished the star with the double speed comet on the small planet by other planet with the penguins. The place with the penguins is where you first use the shells underwater as a vehicle type thing and you break a wall with it.
Zelda I only played for a little bit because my roommate is the one that bought and played through it. He did all the normal Zelda things, in the normal Zelda order. The combat was pretty much the same except you got to waggle. Innovative.
As for SSBM, it's a fun game.
P.S. I don't care if you don't like the AAAs on PC, the 360 or the PS3 but at least have intelligent criticism of them.

It doesn't necessarily have to be about the main point of the story but also of how you're getting there. Character interaction, exploring certain themes (sometimes mature, close your eyes Nintendo, I don't want you to have to see this) and some plot development.
