Will Uncharted 3 meet Gears of war 3 "unoriginal" fate?

Granted, Gears of war 3 is a near master piece or is according to some reviewers. But some critsized it for not changing much. Even when it's quite literally changed its core game mechanics. This basically hurt it in reviews generally. What I'm wondering, will Uncharted 3 meet the same fate? If Gears of war 2 - 3 went from absolute broken to near perfect; what will happen in the transition from Uncharted 2 - 3?

But I'm refering mainly to Uncharted 3, and asking about it. Not Gears of war 3.

I think this is an Uncharted related thread.Its kinda difficult making arguements on system wars without getting a moderation

If anything will burden Uncharted 3 I think it will be demonstrating how it improved on the previous game. Uncharted 2 is one of the best reviewed and most awarded games of all time and on the second measure it may actually be tops.

How do you try to beat that? Few developers would have a chance and even Naughty Dog will have a tough time.

Lazy? What are you talking about? And when you say it looks worse, are you talking about graphics or just overall? Graphically it looks a little better than Uncharted 2 IMO. Gears 3 looks better than both though...well to me at least.

Why try and fix someting that isint broken? Goes for both Gears and Uncharted. Won't be to many major differences compared to the others in the series. The fundamentals of the game are going to be the same.

It may get a few points knocked off of its score. Which is dumb since games like Call of Duty get the same scores without changing much. I think when gametrailers review Uncharted 2 it got points off for being unoriginal when they gave Modern Warfare 2 a similar score and nothing was said about it being unoriginal.

why do review scores matter with these games? everyone knows uncharted 3 will be awesome. all gears fans knew that gears 3 was more of the same. dont let review scores dictate your gaming life. i really only pay attention to review scores if its game that i know little about or had no interest in before reviews. i don't even watch trailers for uncharted 3 because i know im getting it day one and i know it will be awesome.

I already see on the trailers that Uncharted 3 is at least AAAE. If it gets lower than that it's because of unbeliavably high expectations from U2. Thing is I can't see U3 being worse than UDF and UDF got 89 on MC.

I dont get those who bash it for not changing enough! Gears 3 perfected an already winning formula. According to reviews it´s fun to play, looks incredible, it´s very polished and one of the most complete packages this gen when it comes to modes and replayability.

Obviously, if i didnt like Gears 1 and 2, i wouldnt most likelly like Gears 3 aswell.

GS will 8.5 it for being more of the samer, whilst other games will be given a free pass

Moving on: Uncharted series was never original to begin with, UC2 got the score because it just did a whole bunch of things just plain better, making it a huge improvement over the games and uc1. If UC3 doesn't significantly improve from UC2, it will be marked down and it will. There is no way UC3 will score higher than UC2 on metacrtics and it will be lucky to get the same score on gamespot. Not that it will be a bad game, it will probably be better, but score less.

Long Story Short: there is no way UC3 can live up to its expectations along with unoriginality, it will probably be marked down.
