Cross your fingers, SW. I would be one happy gamer if there was a HL3, or Episode 3 announcement. But I know not to get my hopes up.

I'm tired of thinking about it. I'm content to assume they have no games in the works right now, until proven otherwise.

Were people actually expecting anything from Valve? Even if they did have something to announce or wanted to show off DOTA2, E3 doesn't strike me as their thing nowadays.

In 2007 if you would have told me Duke Nukem Forever would come out before Episode 3 then I would have laughed in your face..........................now Duke Nukem Forever is probably gonna be released before episode 3 is even officialy announced :?

Valve is the only developer I know that ignores their most beloved franchises. Half-Life and Counter-Strike are some of the most loved franchises of all time yet Valve just doesn't make new entries into those series. Its like since Steam was created they decided they didn't really care about money that much anymore............:?

As long as they patch portal 2 so we can manualy adjust FoV I'll et them off the hook. Why do I get the feeling it was locked due to Cross platform functionality, even when there is no competetive MP present?

it;s tough waiting for Half Life 3 (episode 3), but we know it;s going to be awesome wheni t finally arrives. It took 6 years betwen Half Life 1 and 2, so it will probably be at least one more year until we see a trailer for it. No later than E3 2012 for a showing.

I started to suspect that they have creative issues with HL long ago. I don't mean to say that M games are something you write while hung over during sundays but it sure does convert a lot of creative stress into a matter of hiring beta testers.

Actually it's the territory of the modder who was left in charge of it after the creators sought new waters. As far as I know he did a great job of continuing DOTA support up to the point where he sold it.

Sure we can argue all day that it was'nt really his but as far as I'm concerned, it was. He's the one who stuck with it, and it's just too convenient, not to mention greedy, to remember your beloved brainchild once it happens to be profitable.

Considering they only put out one game a year and DOTA2 is still on the way, it seems the earliest we'd see Half Life 3 is late 2012. Valve will probably hold there own event when the time comes to unveil it anyway.

Just give me more info for DOTA 2 pleeasseeeeeeee.

They already did that with L4D1 and 2. Still they were amazing and now it´s been 2 years. Maybe Valve could make a L4D3 with real improvements (new engine, more levels, modes 8 player coop :o, etc...)

No Half-Life 2 Episode 3, or Half-Life 3 = disappointment.

Wait...I just realised...they already have CSS...and l4d...and with steam doing so well...they just wanted to make DotA2 so they can finally completely take over the world. Newel's evil master plan is finally in it's final stages. Soon valve will completely control all aspects of life. They will buy off google face book and eventually even microsoft. And then, after they control all aspects of our nerd and social lives, they will start expanding to the food and electricity markets, maybe even the gun market. Soon valve will be controling all the resources of this planet. They are not human. They are the combine, they just figured it's easier to take the world over with videogames rather than striders and headcrabs.
