I noticed they take a little longer for their games to come out.

No, they'd just drag it out over 7 more episodes at $60 a pop with "optional" DLC at $20.They should sell it to Activision. I'm sure they would get it finished and fast.

Not in the near future, the hype is too huge, and it's been years since we heard of something related to HL.
While I understand that fans want something new Half-Life related, those fans should also understand that Valve can do what ever they want. If they don't want to continue the series is ultimatley their decision.
Yes, but Valve isn't retarded. There will be a new HL, nothing to worry about. While I understand that fans want something new Half-Life related, those fans should also understand that Valve can do what ever they want. If they don't want to continue the series is ultimatley their decision.

Yes, once they've finished procrastinating until they think of a way they could make Half-Life 3 as new or innovative as Half-Life 1 and 2 were, you know, at least enough to justify a 4+ year wait. In the mean time, Counter Strike GO/Left 4 Dead/DoTA 2/TF2/Portal it is.
When will that be, though? If I were to make a guess, they'll announce it at some point next year, maybe at E3 but probably just out of the blue, with an initial aim to release it early-2013, but for various reasons it'll be pushed back to late-2013 or early-2014, and will be a launch, or at least very early, title for the next gen consoles (although it'll probably be PC exclusive, if it releases before the new consoles, until they come out). But that's all just wild speculation.
Yeah. Not only Half-Life's problem... Sonic 4: Episode 1 ("Episode 2???" - Somebody at SEGA claimed that Episode 2 would come around sometime), and many other older "episodic" PC-titles.I remember when episodic gaming meant episodes get released faster.

No. Because that's what keeps them in the headlines, or in the minds of gamers. Not that Steam and their other games aren't worth the attention in their own right, but Half-life's the big bomb, and everytime they're about to announce something it gets ten times the attention on the off chance that it might be half-life related.ManicAce
Never thought of it that way... But its a good point lol. Valve isnt the only company doing this though. Its like how everyone wants a FF7 remake but Square is holding out on their fans.
Ive lost hope of every playing another HL game, and I highely doubt it will come even after counterstrike 2 is released. Why? Because thats what everyone said after left for dead came out, then LFD2, then Portal 2, now dota and CS2 etc etc.
Valve better finish the Half-Life Series soon, Black Mesa will likely release before Episode 3, or Half-Life 3 at this point. Episodic content meant that Valve would be able to deliever shorter pieces of content quicker instead of taking six years to release a sequel. The sad part is Half-Life 2: Episode 2 released in 2007, it is now 2011 and we haven't even heard a formal announcement of the game or a single screenshot. If the game does not release next year, that means a snigle Episode, not a full blown game, will have taken five years for Valve to develop. I've lost a lot of faith in Valve finishing the Half-Life Series soon or properly. They ended Episode II in such a bad place that it is like if George Lucas decided to wait another six years after Empire Strikes Back before finishing the Trilogy. :| You know that it will be 2013 or 2014 before we see a new Half-Life game, because Valve is release Counter-Strike: Global Offensive in 2012 and I would imagine Counter-Strike 2 would release on a new engine with the new Half-Life game; though at this point I shouldn't put it pass Valve to release Half-Life 3 or Episode III on Source. If they do, I will be severely dissapointed.
It will be Done, or i'll go to Valve Hq and Take Away Allgabes Hamburgers And Milkshakes, or whatever the hell he eats:P

Then Gabe will hold Episode III randsom!
The series has been stagnant and quite frankly is not as important as it once was.Mr_Cumberdalelolk
...and it would be crap as well. They should sell it to Activision. I'm sure they would get it finished and fast.
