It will do well.
Lots of people say that it won't, saying that "Teh Gamecube suked, so the Wii will suk!!"
The Gamecube didn't suck. It was just number 3 in line.
Case in point, the Dreamcast put Sega out of business. The Gamecube did NOT put Nintendo out of business.
Werent there only 3 consoles really competing last gen.....?Personally,I know the Wii will do better than the GC,but I dont see it outlasting Sony's masterpiece. Nintendo wont go out of business anytime soon, their games and handhelds have always sold well.It will do well.

My crystalball says, "In two years when the casuals have mastered every recipe in Cooking Mama and still can't cook a damn meal, the kids will go back to play Cabbage Patch Kids, and the housewives will go back to do aerobic dances."

So what? People don't seem to understand that the biggest gaming market is North America, second is Europe and then there's a HUGE gap, and then there's Japan. So if 360 does great in North america(360 will dominate NA no matter what) and Europe it might win.
"do well" jesus please speek properly, and also i want to know the same thing since i was thinking about picking the wii myself, but im afraid that the system will vanish in a year. pDbOy_26
Learn to use capital letters. Also, learn how to spell "speak." Learn when to keep your mouth shut and not correct someone.
Also, your "fear" is not well-founded. The GC sold a mere 20 million, and it still made Nintendo billions of dollars. The Wii has already sold over 6 million units, and it shows absolutely no signs of slowing. Even if it only ended up selling 10 million units, though, it wouldn't vanish. Nintendo isn't going to stop supporting it, and it has over $10 billion to back it up.

The DC sold 10 million in a year, which is better than the X360 did. Honestly, I don't understand how the DC failed. Sega had a good thing going with it, but I guess some bad business decisions turned what could have a been a much-needed success into a failure. I think the GameGear and Saturn dug too deep of a hole to climb out.
