Lol, I'm late to the party finding out most Xbox games are 2 discs. Takes me back to the PS2 days. 'Please insert disc 2 to continue.'I'm guessing Microsoft will step it up for the 720.

Well for one thing, I've seen a some people complaning about games with cheap, paper thin disc holders some Xbox games have like the steelbook edition for AC3 and even the collectors edition for ME3 if I'm not mistaken where both discs are on the same disc holder. I assumed by now both Xbox and PS3 games were all on one disc.

The CE of ME3 is in a layered holder and may i add that it sucks donkey balls.. i have to bend the disk to points of breaking it to get it out of that holder... not kidding. I almost brought it back when i got it thinking there was something wrong with the case.... anyone else have this problem. I have to put my fingerprints all over the disk to wedge it out of that case to this day. Bleh.[QUOTE="free_milk"]

Did you really think I was so stupid that I wouldn't notice a run-on sentence?
I liked how you made this thread based on your own assumption. Your method was unscientific.

I'd be pretty pissed having to pry dsics out of a $100 game I brought hoping I don't break the discs. Microsft would have to be out of their minds to continue the dvd format for the 720.
MOST? Forza (car disc requiring an install and never has to be used again) and Rpgs.
Probably less than 5% of 360 games use more than one disc.
Also there is a strong chance the next gen MS console will use Blu Ray, they may have backed the wrong horse HDDVD, but MS don't have so much pride they wouldn't use the winner if it will benefit them.
You know that aint gonna happen. Yeah I know :P, not that I care about swapping disks though. But bluray + better reading speed = winner. Sign me up! The sd card option intrigues me most however...[QUOTE="TheEroica"][QUOTE="rjdofu"]If it keeps DVD format for whatever stupid reason, yes it will. rjdofu

Installs don't bother me, but the constant game updates are annoying. What I don't understand is that my ps3 hasn't been connected to the Internet for months and the games play just fine without the updates--it's likely a piracy thing. The disc swapping can be annoying, circumstantially. I tend to play adventure type games, or story driven, late at night laying in bed. I'm going through Halo Reach right now--if this game had multiple discs and asked me to switch, I'd likely just save and quit if it did. Some games will.
But what about this question:
Will Sony still force people to instal a game that takes 10 minutes to instal? I think that situation is worse then the disk swapping ain't it?

A one time 10-minute install is anyday better than disk swapping. If I wanted to play a specific portion of the game, I would have to put in disc 1, load the game and then put in the next disc. That is painful. Some games will.

MS would have to have s**t for brains if they think they can survive next gen without a high capacity disc for their games. Either they are going to go with Bluray or some other proprietary format based on Bluray like the WiiU .mstrchf12Greenray confirmed!
I hope there will be a minimum of like 10 disks because it means we are getting so much more for the money plus the added appeal of a game when you've already put 75 hours in the game and you have yet to get to disk 6 out of 10 !!
 I always felt that the disk swap thing was kinda silly.... are we that fat and disgusting? I hate switching disks so much. The other day, I had to put he second disk from Resident Evil 4 in my Wii and literally almost spilled my two 64 ounce store brand sodas and I went all crazy and kicked my cat. After the fact, I discovered that the cat as actually my newborn baby in a cat costume my wife bought at K Mart for Thanksgiving. And it turns out that the baby is actually the mail man's. My life is now a ruin, and its all because I had to change disks. Please Microsoft, don't let this happen to others.ekalbtwin:lol: Pretty good umm, 8.5/10. :P

Unless you were playing the Gamecube version on your Wii, and that's just weird and you deserved it.

Stopped reading here.
You have no idea what you're talking about if you think "most" Xbox games are 2 discs. :|
i have a game that requires 4 disc and a game that requires 3 -two actually -la noire rage and 2 that require 2 -forza 3 and 4 lol
i hope not , if one disc breaks you gotta buy the whole set , which is what sucks about 4 disc games lol
and to say they wont use dvd again is stupid,
you dont know what their doing , they can still use dvd a newer type of dvd could be used
one that holds just as much as bluray - wiiu uses similar method -different type of disc that hold the same amount as a bluray
If it keeps DVD format for whatever stupid reason, yes it will. rjdofuI agree if they keep DVD then they will have to be on 2 or more discs.
But it wouldn't make sense for them to keep DVD since they would be the only console next gen to have less then a 25GB disc capacity.
That is if they keep DVD; since even Nintendo would have larger discs then Microsoft.
