Last year Xbox had what they called a temporary price cut that turned into a permanent price drop but let's be honest consoles this gen need more than 500gb, and the 1tb models are $400.

I apologize because I know that I don't know about all of the bundles but I've heard speculation of a $300 Xbox, I don't believe that will happen yet.

There is the Tomb Raider bundle and I think people like tomb raider and it did well but is it really a system seller?

There is also the gears, rare and ori bundle with 1tb that, to me, sounds like really great start but will that be enough to make an impact like a $50 cut did last year? Personally this has me pretty interested but I still don't think I'll get it.

After ps4 has had a price drop in Japan I think we can expect one here in the US, and elsewhere, can Xbox bundles really keep the system competitive at the same price as ps4?

I doubt they will be MSRP during the holiday shopping season

I wonder what the effect will be long term when they still have a surplus of them after the holidays and retailers have continued sales in an attempt to liquidate them but given how many are now flooded onto market I wonder how long all those variants can stay on the market, and whether afterwards retailers refuse to order more LE bundles.

Hopefully MS does a repeat of the $330 they did last year, and throw on some extras on top of it.

Anyone with a decent education can see the value in these bundles. Problem is there are few and far smart people out there who can see this as a good deal.

When is the last time the XB1 was sold in non-bundle form? A bundle is basically the standard console now. That's fine, but the $400 MSRP isn't going to help them when they've sold the Halo bundle for like $279-$299 for an extended period. The X1 needs to undercut the PS4 by $50-100 to be competitive, as we saw last holiday. If the X1 is $399 it will not sell relative to PS4 - regardless of what games it comes with.

Sure. Bundles are the best deals and give people more for their money, which is perfect for the holidays.

I don't see any of those as being huge sellers, except maybe the TR one, but I just think it is good for holiday shoppers to have several different choices available to them, there is bound to be one that interest some people more than the others. More choices is usually better for the consumer.

I would think that they would. It's hard to tell though, the PS4 is still selling very very well.

I love bundles! Well at least when it comes time to buy a new console. I knew I was getting the AC bundle last year, so I made sure to catch up on the 360 on the games I missed (except 3, everyone knows that one sucked). It's great having games right out the box that you want to play. 4 and Unity kept me busy for a couple months.

When I got my 360 elite it came with Lego Batman and some ATV racer, that I rarely played. So seeing 3 to 4 great looking console bundles with cool games is a huge win for consumers this year.

The Xbox1 bundle mattering implies that the Xbox1 itself matters, and it does not.

So no.

Well I know I am more than likely getting one of those Gears / Replay / Ori bundles. Unless one of the yet to be announced bundles is better. Honestly I don't think I've ever bought a console that wasn't a bundle, unless it was a launch console. Hell if some retailer throws in a $50 gift card and gives me $150 for my old PS3 or 360 I may just buy 1 of the Tomb Raider bundles also.

Yeah on Black Friday you could see some bundles go as low as $340.

Yes. Bundles always sell well. The Halo 5 bundle will sell like hotcakes, IMO.

I agree with you when it comes to the rest of the world. But under Spencer X1 is doing decently in NA.

Bundle announced today was pretty lame. Some Lego thing, lol. I'm expecting one of them is gonna be a Halo bundle, would be shocked if they didn't do that.

What is shit about them? Tomb Raider, Gears + RR + Ori? With a 1tb HDD for $399? The second bundle is literally 36 games...
