Will You Be An Early Adopter Next Gen ?

This gen has not been without it's "scandals" in relation to the early-adoption of consoles:

PS3 - Weak software support, 2 significant pricedrops/re-modelling within a year

360 - RRoD

Wii - Shovelware city, horrible online support

Though mostly oblivious to casuals/consumers-at-large, these problems have no doubt knocked gamers confidence in one way or another, and will probably impact the market when the next-gen begins, do you think you'll be lining up next time around ?

But I do find it funny that you put "remodeling within a year" and PS3 price cuts as downers for PS3 but sweet models like the 360 arcade aren't mentioned as faults.

Well, I mentioned it in terms of negatives, the "Arcade" actually added things, it didn't remove them.

re-modelling for the PS3 ? Arguably the best sku is the 60 gig. Put remodelling under the 360. Not sure who would consider Resistance , Motorstorm , Warhawk , Heavenly Sword , Ratchet and Clank , Uncharted , and a plethora of other great games weak software support.

heck no , PS3 and especially xbox 360 thought me a valuable lesson .

if they have good launch lineups, then yes

i got a wii because it had LOZ TP at launch, with SMG, MP3 and SSBB supposedly coming soon after!

360 had oblivion and perfect dark zero (which i thought would be good seeing as the prequel was so amazing)

actually, looking at this, perhaps i won't get a console at launch

I have a Wii and 360 and plan on getting a ps3 sometime unless blu-ray players become cheaper than the ps3. Next gen though I'm moving towards just picking up the Nintendo console and upgrading my PC.

for me its the 360 that taught me a lesson, my system still works when it wants to. my disc tray just opens when ever it wants even in the middle of a game. i had called customer service to repair it they said that they would send out a box because i was still under warranty this back in august. i am still waiting for the box to ship. i then called them back a couple of weeks later to see what the status is they told they dont have a record of the convo. i said ok i will never buy another system from you all again they said ok and hngup. i am now trading in my 360 in FEB to get the PS3 and i cant wait to dump this piece of ****

I might be an Early Adopter I bought a Wii on Launch day but before that I usually waited a few years to buy the consoles when it had more games that interested me, but I'm happy with the Wii so far, and it can only get better. Maybe being an early adopter makes you more appretiative because when it gets better games you would remember were the console came from.

I'd love to say that I won't be, and I certainly intend to at this point, but I can just as easily see myself cracking.

That is true, I also upgraded to next-gen PC tech only to find it being not enough for most modern games for it today. So I have to upgrade again for a 4th of the original cost.

Yes, even MORE so for Sony, Sony will learn from this gen, and i wouldnt be suprised if next-gen they make an incredible console at a lower price then 600 ofcourse, they'll learn from their mistake, not to mention Blu Ray will be the norm by then, definately will be a Sony adopter first, unless they go the way of the Wii with the casual crap.

Nintendo i'll have to wait and see, for some reason i think they might go all out next-gen hardware-wise like N64, so im looking forward to Nintendo's too, as for Microsoft eh, we'll see.
