Personally I would not since I usually game in my bedroom and my cable box is in the living room.

Yes...pressing a button is much quicker than saying a short sentence...campzorWe're in for some fun discussions.

Are you seriously trying to say that voice commands are faster than tactile input? Wow.

Yeah they are, thats the point. With standard input you have to navigate through menus, voice command can access anywhere with a single command. it takes 10 button presses to get to the bottom of a list, compared to 1 voice command. Not to mention the fact that when watching television the remote is often not nearby, whilst your voice is always with you.You can push a button faster then you can speak? For the purposes of remote control? Unless you talk really slow, it sure is faster to say what you want as opposed to fumble the control, look for the right button and then press it, Unless I just happen to be carrying the remote control everywhere I go, but who does that? How can I use it? They didn't even explain it.
I have TV through fiber.
So the TV signal + phone + internet goes through fiber to our ADSL modem/router and with an ethernet cable to a tv splitter to a digital TV box and then through HDMI to our TV.
Where does the Xbox One come into play? How am I supposed to make that work?
The TV signal is encoded.
You could plug it in between the TV box and the TV. But that means it would not have control over the channels and the TV guide and such.
It could replace the box but then it would have to be in cooperation with my provider to legally decode the signal and they are dicks. They're not going to cooperate with anyone.
They could try convince me to get another provider, or to get Microsoft as a provider or something, but that would mean I cannot use the all-in-one package I currently use. So that's like an additional 20 euro's per month just to use MS Xbox TV instead of an already operational digital TV service...
Maybe I don't understand how this works because I haven't heard them explain this but that doesn't sound like a good plan.
Does this work differently in the USA?
Yes for me. I already have cable and a internet connection - so pushing it all through the Xbox One to motion and voiuce command while quickly going from tv to movie to game looks great. And Im big into fantasy football. So yeah, Xbox Live Tv will be used by me. But I'd still say 70% of my time will be gaming, with the other 30% being for the features of the system.
Ain't that 'murica only?freedomfreakAt first, and then global rollout wiithin a few months. If you have a internet connection its gonna bring a ton of programming to you no matter where you are, and MS has obviously thought of how to implement this and make it viable for people outside the States. To think they haven't reeks of fanboyism.

Nope, useless feature for me. Heil68Would have to see it put into practice, but I really don't the get the practical application for it either.
Ain't that 'murica only?freedomfreakThey said initially, but they'd be rolling it out in other regions as deals were struck.

I have a DVR/cable box, I dont need a middle man device for it. I use a Harmony remote to control all my devices and it works out pretty well.
It's catered to Americans. If you live outside of the USA there's a fat chance you either get no TV or some half-assed service. I don't even watch TV anymore. LustForSoulThen there is that. We stream most TV we watch these days.
So they're basically giving up on more than half the console market. They're hoping to make this an American TV sensation so that they can take over TV boxes at some point. I guess their gaming division wasn't successful enough to continue.
I pitty anyone who buys this thing. MS will never learn.

Hell we have a DVR in 3 rooms so even streaming it to different matters not.

Streaming isn't that big here in the EU and MS likes to exclude us in a lot of things when it comes to the 360. We didn't get a twitch app, we didn't get nexflix and more.

Fixed your quote chain :P When I was in UK I was able to stream netflix from my wireless devices, but don't think I could in France or Spain? Might be that Netflix hasn't entered those markets yet, rather than MS not supporting them.[QUOTE="LustForSoul"][QUOTE="Heil68"] Then there is that. Yeah, UK always has its own thing going on. They just play a bigger role on the consumer's market I guess. It's unfortunate, they're so focused on NFL and American Football, nobody watches that here. Hell, even if they offer soccer, people will still watch it on normal TV.
I say maybe because living in a smaller rural TV market, the only weekly NFL games I get are either the St Louis Lambs, Tennessee T!t$ and Indianapolis Dolts. Getting to watch my favorite team every week would be nice . Yeah I can get a low quality viideo stream or Sunday Pass, but if the price is lower,,,,
