If and when it comes out in your country? I'm thinking about it, I'm all for better battery life. 1 hour though not sure (I own a launch 3g vita)

Check out the screen comparison provided by polygon

I'm not sure, the lack of an OLED screen is a minus, and it's the same price. When I trade in my Vita for a new one. I think I'm just gonna get the original.

I have a white Vita, so no reason to buy a whole new Vita but... bring on the games, like now.

Mulling over the Vita TV actually. I don't do cable anymore so something like that would be right up my alley.

Also too bad they didn't up the resolution on the new Vita. The jaggies on the live area are rather annoying actually.

I actually recommend getting the redesigned Vita. The thing can be tiresome to hold after a while. An even lighter Vita ... you'll get tired 20% slower. ;)

Im tempted to get one , if it comes to EU.

I will wait for the review of Digital Foundry thoughts about it.

I know that Super LCD 3 i supposed to be nearly as good as OLED, but im still a bit suspicious... (and we dont know if it IS super lcd 3... might be super lcd 2).

OLED is more expensive and takes longer to produce, im not surprised they moved to LCD.

Then you would get real tired with a wii u controller, they weigh twice as much. Even 360's weighs more so I am used to it. Though ps3 controller is lighter.

not the new vita, but if that vita TV thing allows me to purchase and play games without owning a vita or a PS4, i'd seriously consider it.

I own the original system already and I don't see enough of an upgrade here to justify the change. A little lighter and thinner is always welcome but I don't feel enough weight has been shed to make it worthwhile. The analogue sticks also don't have any more throw to them (at least they haven't said they do) which is a big improvement I'd like to see. I'll happily stick to my current machine.

The thing about OLED is that I play on the lowest brightness anyway to save battery life. I don't think I was getting the full benefits in the first place.

It's not about strength but that you normally have to hold the Vita in a tensed (muscle strain) position when you play it. Even a light weight, if held for a long-time in mid-lift, will wear you out. Unlike a home console controller (which can be heavier) you can't easily rest it on your lap or knee (depending on your body shape and sitting position) because it makes the screen harder to see or places it too far away from the face. We are talking about something that is almost twice the weight of a smart phone...now imagine having to hold it under stress....for hours at time. In fact just take a two coins out, hold one in each hand and hold each hand up. You will get tired surprisingly quickly.

edit: Actually, just try it holding nothing at all.  It should be a pretty illuminating experience all the same.

No, the major problem with the system still remains. There are no games of interest released or announced yet. At least not enough to purchace a system for. Then there is the issue that the company that made the PSV doesn't seem to care much about the system either. It seems like a bad investment at this point.

Anyone saying OLED or bust is silly. If it's IPS LCD it will be better than OLED or just as good with better battery life as stated.

Yes. I don't care about OLED, it has built in memory, and better battery. I have to hand it for Sony, this is a well done redesign (although I am currently conflicted between the new Vita and the Vita TV).

You might be on to something... and SCE would get those cheaper, since SONY manufactures IPS and Super IPS for phones.

no. some things i like: micro USB (dissapointed the current vita (fat vita? :P) didnt have that). built in storage. its only 1GB so killzone merc wont work out of the box. but its enough to get started for the bast majority of games. increased battery life is always welcome in a handheld. some things that i dont like why is it thinner? its a very nice device to hold as is. devices can get too thin and become uncomfortable. still it doesnt seem to be that much thinner so meh. just not something i would focus on if i was redesigning the vita. no OLED. the vita screen is a perty screen. though in fairness it wouldnt be a deal breaker....a good LCD is also very nice to look at. fingers crossed it is a good LCD and not some really cheap nasty yoke to keep costs down. speakers still poorly placed: one of my gripes with the current model. so easy to block with your thumb while playing. can they not do what they did with the PSP and have them at the bottom pointing down? would that really mess up sound quality? anywho i wont be changing my vita. not enough reason too. if i was in the market for a new one though it would be a tough call. depends on the price difference.

So far Sony has given me 0 reason to buy a Vita. So there is a good chance I will never own a Vita. I have more reasons to buy a 3DS and I don't know if I will ever bother with buying one of those either. Guess I'm just not into mobile gaming. When I am home, I have PC and PS3, so have no use for a handheld there. When I am on the go, I am active and not interesting in gaming.

I have plenty of reasons to buy a Vita... but my money is reserved for the PS4 1st.

After i get the PS4 and the 3 launch games im interested, i can save for a vita (since the only other game i want is Witcher 3 that is still far away)

I really want to play Persona 4 Golden, Soul Sacrifice, Tearaway, Killzone Mercenary and Velocity Ultra. Not to mention some interesting indies. (the max i usually play is 1h each day, so its perfect for me)

I don't believe so. Mostly because the OLED change and also the fact that I'm not a huge handheld gamer anymore. I use my smartphone during times of boredom when I'm away from home and I don't want to carry something else around.
