I don't own a ps3, so I don't know anything about it, but does it already start off with a wireless adapter? Cause i'm planning to get one soon. I have a 360 but sure as hell do not want to spend $100 for something as simple as a wireless adapter... I hate using the cord because I have very little space to play my 360 next to the computer's wireless router.

I think the high-end version of the PS3 does include a wireless feature.

Which is good, because all consoles should have wireless if they want to play online.

I use wired on my PS3 because I hate wi-fi for gaming, but yeah unless you get the original 20 gig version it has wireless, wi-fi was a $100 option at launch.

Except for the defunct 20GB model, yes.

BTW, there are cheaper alternatives to give the 360 wireless. Such as using the Nintendo DS wireless adapter (which is compatible, oddly enough).
