If I had more money I would love to have nice gaming rig. Best of all worlds. Game pass, PS exclusives coming now, emulation for the nintendo games. I have to settle for having a Ps, Xbox, and switch to play things at medium settings.

@stacweed11: sad thing is... If you want to build a PC with current GPU prices, the combined cost of the three consoles is still inferior to that of building a new PC from scratch with 100% current tech.
I hate where we are right now.
Not right now. GPU prices are crazy bad.
But bitcoin is going out the door, right? The fad has passed?
It's on its way, but right now, GPU prices are still bad.

I know we're in it for the long haul, but I've reason to be optimistic:

I'd give it by the end of the year. Worst case scenario, Q2 of 2022. But yeah, prices will go down, especially since China has kinda affected bitcoin now.
Despite the usual console fanboys trying to exaggerate the same complaints they were using 20 years ago, (yeah you still see comments like "I prefer to game on TV with a controller" 🤣IKR?) PC is the best place to game if you have a good one. Save up while you wait for prices to get back to normal and when they do, don't skimp out.
PS5 = 400 USD
XBX= 300 USD
Switch= 300 USD
Total = 1,000 USD+
You trolling us OP? you don't have money for a gaming rig but you have enough to buy 3 consoles? not to mention their respective games which adds atleast 70 USD for each console? come on guys you have got to bait better than that...
@pelvist: c'mon... 10 years ago GPU and CPU prices weren't this obscene. It's really a bad time rn to build a rig from scratch.
@Dark_sageX: I was looking at some graphics cards and some equal much more than all my consoles combined. that's just one piece. I need everything including monitors, mouse, desk, ect. I'm not trolling, just wish I had a nice gaming PC.
WIth regards to games, I usually wait for sales and get the Game pass deals (3 months for a dollar). my switch has dust on it for now. my ps5 is killing me lately though with their recent releases. I want to be master race though!!! maybe the earlier post are correct and prices will drop next year. I know where my bonus at work will be going

I'd wait it out. I've wanted to build one for a while now, but GPU prices are insane.
@stacweed11:
I built my current rig in 2016 and it is still up and running. Yeah, the i7 6700k is long in the tooth and so is the outdated Asus ROG Strix 1080Ti. But, it still chugs through games at 4k with ultra settings. I know it can be hard to get into building a PC now with the high prices. Maybe you can look into some pre built PCs during the 4th of July specials. Checkout CyberpowerPC or look up some decent priced gaming rigs on Amazon during the current prime sale.
@gcfreak898: thats a good idea to check out prime deals. Just some people don't recommend pre built, but I guess beggars can't be choosers lol I thought 1k to 1.5k would be good, then I saw some graphics cards and I knew I was in for it
Why don't lems want anyone to buy a PC if it plays Xbox games? I don't get it. Anyway, don't get into PC right now until the GPU market normalizes. If it ever does, go all in.
@stacweed11: check these two out:

or
https://www.amazon.com/CyberpowerPC-Xtreme-i5-10400F-GeForce-GXiVR8060A10/dp/B08FBK2DK5
Both are under 1,500 dollars and are more than capable to get you started PC gaming. I've bought Cyberpower PCs before and I highly recommend them.

I work 8-10 hours a day on a pretty powerful PC, the last thing I want to do is sit in that same chair and play a game at night. Nope, it's not going to be connected to the TV, it's too big to be in the living room.

Righto.
@mtron32: not a ps5 gamer I take it?
TBF with the guy, most cases and builds are ATX, which are usually bigger than the PS5. Then again, ITX builds are a thing, so I dunno how "big pc in a living room" is an issue.
@xantufrog: Yep.
I actually have a 25-foot HDMI cable hooked onto my TV in case I wanna do some couch gaming, and wireless controllers and stuff. People should just say they don't wanna game on PC if they don't want to lol.
My gaming rig is more than Switch, Ps5, and Xbox X combined (as most are), so I feel for anyone who cannot afford it. PC is simply the best, but you gotta pay up bigtime for it.
