this game sold far worse in the US than crysis...this is proff that NPD numbers dont work for PC games, where the biggest market is Europe, and digital distrobution isnt included.

US sales can be embarrasingly bad for some of the more hardcore PC games. You think Witcher sold badly in US? Silent Storm a year after it's release sold less than 20K in US, the same with Panzers and Blitkrieg, while SS sold over 500K worldwide and both Panzers and Blitzktieg sold over million copiues each. US marker is quickly becoming non-factor in PCgaming.AdrianWerner
While I admit that we have our disagreements in other topics, I 100% agree with this statement. PC Gaming has always been the most popular, it's just that it's really niche in the two main countries in console gaming (United States and Japan). There's a reason why North America alone makes up 50% of the world console gaming market.

Yup, and its probably safe to assume more Americans use this site that anyone, so really no matter how much we preach, I doubt anythign will change around here, until some random Market Crash happens again and the PC market goes on unnefected, like last time.
although Im primarially hermit, I would not jsut owna PC and nothing else, all I need to get now is a DS & a PS3 .. sometime within 6 months probably.
Fact is, all systems have thier worth, they are all pretty unique in games and features & cultures now more than ever.
The only thing im annoyed about is having to buy a HDTV ... cant he PS3 & Wii have VGA cables to be hooked up to monitors?

The Wii was promised to be monitor compatiable, but I'm not sure what happened with that.
I do agree that each system has their point and worth in terms of games on the system, types of games, and unique features.
Saying that I personally wish that there was a console that specialized in arcade gaming and LAN. Like having Fighters, Shoot-em-ups, Hard Action Games, etc.
I also wish that the core gaming market would be ressurected in Japan again, I'm sick of the lack of cookie-cutter JRPG's and casual games.
Are this and Burning Crusade the only million sellers on PC this year?MikeE21286
Even though the statement you just made is ridiculous, that is still more million sellers that the PS3 has had this year. I guess the PS3 is going to die next year.

rofl ... you have seriously lost the plot if you think that. are you just anti-hermit or something at the moment?
Not lost the plot.....just made up my own :D It's a fair question.

Command & Conquer 3
The Orange Box (which actually did pretty badly on the 360)
Bioshock
Football Manager 2008
that is all the titles I'm fairly sure about. Not much, but there are perhaps more that we don't know about.

No one knows, the only time you know about the sales of a PC game is when the devs or publisher gives it out like they did here.

What? C&C3 reached 2 million almost half a year ago.
[QUOTE="MikeE21286"]are you sure about Bioshock? I'm pretty sure it just sold over 1 million on the 360. I'm pretty sure it didn't on PC.Meu2k7
PC Version is outselling the 360 version thanks to Europe, it was posted on here ages ago.
musta missed it....yeah, Europre is kinda like Japan to some extent which the 360

i think stalker is also close to that
Well, I believe that this is a really good answer to those idiots at id and Epic.
Witcher is a pretty hardware demanding game, but it has that other thing - its gameplay, story character are a pure enjoyment.
DOOM III was great, but nothing revolutionary. Unreal Tournament 2k4 was incredible, but there was no new franchises while we were waiting for UT3 - which is, IMO, a complete crap of a game.
So, Carmack and Rein, make a good game for a start, and if it sells like crap, then start whining "BU... BUH TEH PIRACY"

Really? Double happy now.
What about all The Sims 2 expacks? They sell like crazy.
[QUOTE="Udsen"]This is what Atari needed._Pedro_
hehe Atari didn't get a great many of those sales :P CDProjekt are their own publishers in Eastern Europe, where the gameplay is estimated to have sold 500k+ in total. The only sales Atari could've gotten are from Western Europe.
lol poor atari

[QUOTE="siafni"]I'd get it straight away if my PC could handle it... :(RK-Mara
You need a new PC :D What do you have? Amd Sempron 3200+, 512Mb ram and GeForce 6600 GT?
Nope, I've got a laptop (dual core 1.83, 1gb Ram and geforce 7400go)... it handles GW and HL2 allright, but tht's it. I am considering whether to build a decent desktop (quadcore+2gbram+geforce8800GT) or get a console (I consider pc gaming superior, but I don't have that much time for gaming, so I guess saving money and getting a console is also an option...
