With $500 you would....

Im kind of stuck... and was wanting some honest opinions. I have a 360 and a decent computer... I was thinking about getting a PS3 or upgrading my computer a tad and putting dual 8800 GTX or something along that line.

For the PS3 owners I was wondering how happy you are with your system: how is the MP mainly... and for someone who hasnt payed a lot of attention to PS3 what games would you recommend besides MGS4 (which is a given). I personally like games that have a strong MP, shooters, and air combat games like Ace Combat 6, and racing games (I refuse to call them sims). It doesnt seem like many good games are coming out for the PS3 in the coming month, besides for Killzone 2 which is currently set for early 09.

My PC is c2d e6750 2.66 ghz, 4 gigs of ram, Pissta... i mean Vista.. sorry, and an 8800 GTX 512. Games i am looking at getting are Spore (which this rig should run that with ease), Starcraft II, maybe Crysis warhead, Fallout 3 and Farcry 2.

Just wanting some opinions... mainly if you would wait to upgrade the PC and get the PS3 or if I am looking at playing most of those games decently upgrade the PC and fore-go the PS3

id say wait to upgrade and get a ps3, Im very happy with my purchase of it

THe online works much better than some people say it does and you should get some games such as warhawk, uncharted, Rachet and Clank ToD, GT:P and if your into survival horrors i loved siren blood curse. And soon youve got Socom, Little Big Planet, Resistance 2 and mirrors edge is going to be a timed ps3 exclusive, so i think its worth it to get one now deffinately

Honestly, if possible, I'd wait untill the winter games come out, and then make your judgement off of that.

If you buy MGS4 for the MP, you will be disspointed. It was not made for MP. Play it for the story.

For MP, i'd recommend getting SOCOM this October, Resistance 2 this november, and killzone 2 february 09.

Its has LBP and Motorstorm 2 also coming this fall.

And i'm really happy with my PS3.

seriously, if you already have one 8800GTX, don't even bother getting another one. People like me have to live with graphics cards that can barely run Crysis.

honestly, i'd spend it on some That 70s Show DVDs (you all know it's awesome) and maybe something non-gaming related that you've been needing for a while now. better yet, just save it.

by that time you should hit the slopes, way more fun than any tech related product. if he already has a 360 and decent pc then its a waste buying a ps3 or upgrading his pc. why play snowboarding/football etc when you can do it for real?

Buy a bicycle and go outside. Games are nice and all but there is a real world outside that front door.Kez1984

exacltly and it lasts more than 6 hours. with games costing so much you can go snowboarding/surfing or the many other sports for a day for less than the price of a new game. why spends so much on vg when they are so short and have hardly any resale value?

for the price of a x360/ps3 you could get a really nice bike/snowboard that will last much longer and have much more value in 2 years time.

There is no timed exlusivity, there is only exclusive DLC

With $500, I would build a gaming computer. You could just upgrade your CPU to a quad and add a second 8800. You'll be set until you get another $500 :PAIH_PSP

I would say the graphics card, but I've been looking to upgrade my 8600 GT, so that's just me.
