With Nintendo dominating, do you think they should've kept the name Revolution?

Just a thought. Nintendo said the name "Revolution" was too intimidating. But I think they took away the name because if Nintendo's next-gen system flopped, than it would be embarrassing to call it "Revolution."

But since it's a hit, maybe the Wii really is a "Revolution?"

Any thoughts?

It's simple symantics, man! 3 syllables always beats 4, so Nintendo gambled and made a 1-syllable system: the Wii.

Everyone dissed it, saying stuff like "Man, the Pee-Ess-Three has top-of-the-like syllables and sixaxis controllers. Wii is going down."

No one could have forseen the domination of "the little one-syllable engine that could".

Maybe in a thousand years Wii will mean revolution (in some languages).

The problem with 'Revolution' is that the name only makes real sense prior to its launch and in the first year it's released. You can't have the same 'revolution' 5 years in a row and it doesn't make sense after the console is dead to say "The Revolution is dead" Optusnet
