Battlefield 2? UT 2004? Forgettable experiences if you ask me...
The PC is good for MMO's, and the occasional FPS/RTS. Other than that, as a platform I just don't like it much. I want to play Spore, but it won't rewrite gaming for me. You have to love online play to be a PC gamer, and personally, online gaming just isn't for me.

Uh, I'm 20, and yes I have. As well as Diablo 1 and 2, Starcraft, Half-life, Half-life 2, System Shock 1 and 2, Duke 1, 2, and 3D and many others.
PC gaming just isn't as comfortable as laying down on a couch with a controller in your hand.

You do know you can hook a controller to your PC and lay down on a coach and play right?

There are rare times in Battlefield when in a 64 player map, everyone knows what they are doing and the match just goes flawlessly. I've only experienced it once and that was on 1942, and it was 25 minutes of pure bliss.

But hooking up a controller to a PC and playing it on my couch would defeat the entire purpose of playing if keyboard and mouse is so superior. I'd never win anything and it could possibly be even less fun than sitting hunched over a desk.

That's what I liked about MMO's. If you join the right guild everybody knows what they are doing. I played WoW for 2 years, and SWG for 3. Some of my fondest gaming memories were created with those.

Intriguing, can you hook a laptop up via HDMI/VGA with a wireless keyboard/mouse and still get 1:1 pixel mapping on a 1080p TV? Assuming your videocard can handle it, does such a card exist in laptops today? That's what I'm in the market for...

I would recommend not using laptops as a gaming platform. I understand if you choose to do it anyway, but there are negatives to doing it.

Any idea when the new laptop models are typically unveiled? Any chance of an NVIDEA 9 series M card before the end of summer? I want to take advantage of back to school deals...

Please, enlighten. I'm not in the market for building a desktop at the moment. Why are they bad?

It really just boils down to them having much less space to work with. This causes spacial, heat dissipation, and power limitations. Therefore, laptop gaming hardware is usually more expensive and less powerful. On top of that, upgrades are more difficult, at best, and near impossible at worst.

yeah, heck a nvidia 7600 can do that! lapies could do hd when desktops could, so to speak. the new laptop 8800m gtx, runs crysis on HIGH at 35 fps, at very high around 20. Its the most powerful lap top card ever and in history of comparison from dektop cards to laptop, its mazing, it literally is a under clocked 8800 gt.[QUOTE="PCGA_FTW"]Yea, 8800 GTXM
