With the new 3DS does that mean we can finally get a 3D pokemon game?

Also no don't mention the pokemon battle stadium game. I am talking about a pokemon game that is similar to the 2d games but now in 3d. I mean will they finally evolve the game. It basically still plays like the first game. They can't make it so that you actually play as the pokemon in realtime.? it would be cool to play as the pokemon and have to actually dodge and use tactics to defeat other pokemon.

While some real time elements might be nice, I would rather they kept the main combat turn based.

Seeing as the 3ds has power almost on par with the GC, they better have it in full 3d....or at least really detailed animated sprites.

Keep the old graphics but with much improved and detailed sprites.

Also, i'd like a change in some of the gameplay. The Levelling system is weak imo, i think you should be given more input on your pokemopn build for instance each level you gain you're given points to upgrade and of the several stats, depending on the Pokemon that is levleling up, it costs less points to level up a certain aspect.

For instance for an Onyx it takes less points to level up it's defence, but more for speed etc.

Don't be silly! There is waaay too much milkage left in selling slightly different takes on the original. Just for example here are some more titles they could extract cash from you with:

Pokemon: Slightly Mauve Edition

Pokemon: Super Collectors Edition (Includes red, blue, gold, purple, blamanche and strawberry cheesecake)

These are just two from an almost infinite list.

The 3DS is only going to be slightly more powerful than the DS, so don't expect anything like super improved graphics or a polygonal Pokemon game. Expect the 3DS to be to the DS what the Wii is to the GCN.

Plus, it would save Nintendo a ton of time and money to just stick with sprites and static battle images. Besides, if they did go 3D, a ton of people would complain for some reason and Nintendo would just wind up re-using the Pomemon Stadium 1 models again for the fifth time.

Unfortunately, Nintendo never stated that it would have GCN-levelk graphics... that was all speculation and a rumour started by some guy at E3. While Tegra is rumoured to be the chip powerfing the 3DS, I really doubt Nintendo would really put something like Tegra 2 into the system. That would make the 3DS like, three times more powerful than the Wii and we already know how Nintendo feels about graphics.

At best, I would expect the 3DS's graphics capability to be at a similar level to the iPhone but a fair bit behind PSP and way behind GCN.

Well I would love to see them keep the same basic game as Heart Gold/Soul Silver, viewpoint and all, but just make all the characters proper 3D now, and make all the battles proper 3D too (Pokemon Stadium style), update all the sounds/cries for all the Pokemon, and maybe expand the multi-player aspect a bit so human players can go online and wander around the map talking to and battling other human players, like a basic MMO, and then display it all in 3D 3D if you get what I mean.

That would be enough for me to be very happy.

The DSi is already to the DS what the Wii is to the GCN. Except that most wouldn't consider it a brand new system (Nintendo didn't really treat it as such). Presumably the 3DS will be at least more powerful than the DSi.

Given the 3DS's nature, a 3D pokemon makes some sense.

I think it will be in 3D, it the easiest change to make without changing the formula.
