Who the hell would waste that much coin on a console. PS4/PC....... Scorpio is a joke. Rather spend another grand on a mask.

Nope. After some reading questioning just how viable will it be releasing a console with such a big jump in power from its current gen counterpart. Its a wait and see of how this machine is received. And given MS lack of 1st and 2nd party studios under contract for exclusives. The sheer amount of money it cost to develop big budget titles nowadays. And how big of a gap the original Xbox One is to scorpio. Were not gonna get many if any titles, that truly use Scorpio's power. And this is a console that's gonna cost at minimum $350 dollars.

So I'm actually just thinking of getting the regular Xbox One. Maybe not this holiday though, as I'll prefer to buy a used gaming PC off ebay to get back into PC gaming. And expand the selection of games that can be avaliable for me to play.

Developers are used to developing games for different kind of specs. Just look at the crazy fragmented PC market. They can easily make it work for 2 consoles.

@FastRobby: And where's the justification for making a truly far better version build from the ground up. Than what the tremendously weaker original X1 can handle.

Scorpio isn't releasing till at least next holiday season. So an even greater number of X1 users, will not be using Scorpio. The only thing I can think of potentially happening, is Scorpio just becomes a console that lands the equivalent PC multiplatform port. Without all the customization options of course. And in that scenario, I'll be hard pressed justifying buying Scorpio to play inferior PC ports. And I'll also like to wait and see if there are any potential compatibility issues with older games trying to run on Scorpio.

These mid-gen upgrades seem like a scam to me. Not having any exclusives to themselves and being only slightly more powerful is nothing short of a gimmick.

If it came down to a decision between the NEO and the Scorpio, I would go with the NEO at this point.

For somebody who doesn't have a decent PC I could see the Scorpio being a good option.

Not going to bother with either of these new consoles. Waste of time and money when you can play everything on PC.

I'm at a cross roads with consoles. Since they are going the upgrade route every few years I do this on PC now. So that is redundant to me. So at this point Scorpio is not an automatic buy. Especially because of the fact that Windows 10 has a shared game space now. If I get the 1080 TI in the future giving it superior performance in games why buy the inferior Scorpio for lesser performance? I know that might not sink in with some of you, but that is my perspective. NEO MIGHT be a buy if PSVR is enhanced greatly by it. That remains to be seen.

Gamer of all of the consoles here and Xbox has already been my primary console for multiplats because it has the best controller, online service, and features. I will upgrade to Scorpio and of course it will continue being my primary console for multiplats.

I haven't completely decided if I will upgrade my PS4 to Neo yet. The only way that I would upgrade is if I buy the Playstation VR headset and the only way that I would buy that Playstation VR headset is if Sony gives me enough great exclusive VR content that I can't already get with my HTC Vive. They have a few exclusive VR games that look appealing to me, but I don't have a lot of confidence in the Playstation VR technology being able to provide a great VR experience like the Vive, so I'm waiting for reviews. No matter what though, Playstation consoles have always been secondary consoles to me that I only buy for their exclusives and I don't see that changing anytime soon unless Sony makes huge improvements to their controller and online service, and also starts delivering more great features than Xbox.

LOL No, I've got a 8.9TF GPU, god knows what it'll be at with the next X80 card - possibly double the scorpio.

Whichever console has the most exclusives that I'm interested in becomes my go to console aka side bitch.

I don't see the Scorpio being that console, but would be cool.

The alleged power of the Scorpio does nothing for me. My last PC would likely dump on it and my new PC definitely does.

Oh the idiocy on these boards. Implying Xbox Scorpio is only slightly stronger or not even comparable to high end PCs at this time. It IS on par with high end PCs, and it IS 4.5x stronger than X1. How people continue to be so ignorant, and stupid amazes me. With that being said though, I will only buy the Scorpio if almost all games from the point it releases, and going forward run at 1080p 60 fps or better. If it only has a few games that do that, or is just for 4k and VR I'll pass and keep enjoying my current X1.

@primorandomguy: That isn't even in the realm of remotely accurate. There are already 11TFlop gaming graphics cards out. Lort only knows what will be on the shelf by eo 2017.

Edited the 12 out because that is for a quadro series card but the new Titan weighs in at 11.

@Shewgenja: and just for that card it costs 1,200 dollars... Less than 1% of pc gamers even have it. Not to mention a lot of PC gamers have rigs weaker than the X1 and PS4 lol. Too imply the Scorpio isn't high end or slightly stronger than X1 is just false.

Doubtful. I already own a PC that runs circles around the Scorpio and if Xbox content makes its way over there, I'll have no need for the device whatsoever.

My go to is currently the PS4 and I imagine the way things are going right now that NX won't alter the status quo. But I'm open to the idea, if Nintendo can give me a good reason to ditch Sony exclusives.

@primorandomguy: Oh, it is definitely a step up from the og bone. I think that the Scorpio is a good sign from MS that they have intentions to go in the right direction if they stick to console gaming. So, that wasn't what I was getting at.

It's just not anything in the realm of a high end PC, and it is strongly likely that 6 tflop graphics cards will be in the budget gaming range by the end of 2017. 6tflops isn't even high end now, it's on the upper side of mid range.

Which is all good and well. They're making plans to support VR and for whatever it is worth, I thought they'd be making plans to exit console gaming in 2017 or 2018, not double down on it. It is all well and good, and I hope you enjoy the hell out of your Scorpio.

There just turning XBOX into windows 10 machines basically and maybe still play the whole console game with sony for timed deals an crapola and leverage all of windows its a brilliant power play.

@Shewgenja: I gotcha. Like I said I'm not buying one unless it runs a lot of games better. 4k is nice and all, but not worth a new console. And I'm not into VR at all. Thanks though.

Developers and gamers alike were demanding for a more powerful Xbox and the Scorpio will deliver. It's raising the bar and setting the standard for console gaming for years to come. So yes it will be the main draw above underpowered consoles like PlayStations.

I'm a Nintendo Fan. Always have been and always will be. I bought a Xbox One S the other day and I'm enjoying it thoroughly. I don't know if Scorpio will become my primary. More than likely it will end up being NX, and I'll use this S to handle 3rd party games I don't get on NX. Unless Scorpio is awesome, or it launches at $399 I don't see myself taking the plunge at launch. But it will be on my radar.

I do wonder, what are the chances of the Scorpio hype dying down by next holiday season. Anything can happen in a little over a year. So will there's still be significant consumer interest for Scorpio 17+ months since its reveal ? That's a question I'll also like answered when the time comes. As I personally had interest in scorpio over neo, since I don't have an X1. But a 1+ year wait from todays date turns me off.

I think MS may have went too far with scorpio. Right now, it must be cost prohibitive to release. But they probably felt pressure to reveal scorpio earlier then they would have liked to after Neo was leaked. And maybe wanted to beef up the specs, as we haven't seen a working model. But we all know being the most powerful console doesn't guaranteed greater sales. As the PS2 and Wii showed us. Along with Nintendo's handhelds.

No plans at all to buy another xbox. I like Xbox as a brand but their exclusive lineup doesnt interest me at all or lack of i should say. Their hardware failure rate is atrocious too. I am probably most interested in #1. NX if good #2. Building a solid PC #3. PS NEO then #10. Scorpio. I just have a serious problem with microsofts first party content or lack of it and i can just play most on PC

Plus I prefer Xbox Live and the Xbox controller.

PCMR + PSfam (vita-ps3-ps2-psp) + 3ds gamer here and hell no! I value game play and depth over graphics, and having food on my families table. I own enough systems and won't be buying another console that has the same games I can get on my PC / PS4 etc... If I had the money for that (and it didn't go to the house, the cars, the credit cards, utilites, the kids activites, food etc...) then I would be buying a new graphics card and a new hard drive. Hell I won't even get a Neo. Console refresh mid gen is dumb unless your hardware breaks.

Scorpion is a dumb move imo... reminds me of 32x and "new" 3ds.. Both things I avoided like the plague.

It's not likely at this point, they're not going to be topping my current rig any time soon and they still aren't making games that interest me. That could possibly change in the future but I'm very doubtful.

Pretty funny seeing the Lems bicker that this site and this forum has some intrinsic Playstation bias when the grand total of Playstation voters were one-punched by XBox gamers looking to upgrade to Scorpio.

@undefined: No need for so many poll options bro. Seriously. But seeing as how the 360 is still my go to console and I haven't upgraded yet to current gen, then yes Scorpio is a safe bet for my next go to console.

Sticking with PS4 for as long as possible. Then I will buy a PS4 Neo. PlayStation consoles last me the entire gen. Plus they have a vastly superior controller.

Xbox consoles suck and break once a year. I owned 4 xbox360's and after that garbage from last gen, I refuse to buy another xbox ever again. Xbox also has a bad controller where I have to break my left thumb to play it.
