which console has the better exercise games? and what is the best workout game out there?
This topic is locked from further discussion.
I would say conect would. Wii fit and EA FIT don't seem to be the same kind of work outs as the excersize games on Xbox. Not saying they are worse but Conect looks more intense. Wii has yoga type excersizes :P
Dude, they're the same thing. Except that one requires payment for the gym. These are by far the worst type of exercises for health.
Real exercise > game exercises.

Yes because Jay Cutler or Lance Armstrong rely on the Wii Fit/Kinect to stay fit. I'm offended in a way lol. I didn't get my big muscles from Wii Fit you know :P
[QUOTE="ScottMescudi"]ignorance is great, these are basically work out classes, at least kinect is, and they are real world work outs, I even brought a few that I learned to my karate class, I havn't tried wii-fit but judging by someone saying it has pushups and plank stuff, its just as real, you get a benefit from the game though for tracking your performance and stuff. These are by far the worst type of exercises for health.

Come on now. Ignorance, I'd say it's common sence. Would you really pay money for these type of stupid exercise games when you can do actual exercise like HIIT training, push ups, chin ups on a bar. You know, gaining abs and actually gaining muscle? :P You'll just regain those lost calories from Wii Fit, etc.

They both teach you the same workout. I've tried both real gym and video game workout, the result is the same (except videogames are more fun) Those guys didn't have videogames workout at that time

yah, i go to karate, weight lift, run, can do 10 solid dead hang pull ups (navy seals avg 6-10 ) and i still find your fitness evolves offers something a bit differnt, these are aerobic excersices, alot of toning for legs, a lot of them are designed to be used with light dumbells, they are beneficial and provide a bit of structure, they are real workouts.[QUOTE="ScottMescudi"]

Do they teach you how to perform barbell rows? Romanian/Stiff/Plain Deadlifts? Front Squats/Hack/Plain squats? Bicep/Hammer curls? Can you do pull ups/Chins or military presses using Wii fit? Hopefully your joking around about this. the HIIT exercise is the #1 exercises to stay fit as well. Come on man :P

to stay fit is one thing, and these will do that nicely. since kinect really can't see you on the floor it lacks a lot of core, but definitly makes up for that in toning exersizes, a lot of squats/jump and jacks/knee up types of work outs, all designed around holding dumbells and 10lbs can go along way there...are these good for athletes and weight trainers? no, but they are more then enough for your average person, and they are real work outs. The work outs are 20/30 mins and are great for normal people that aren't trying to run marathons or or look liek a cast member from 300
While I don't do your fitness evolved very often, i do use it to get ideas for work outs to bring to my karate class, but it does provide a good work out. I focus a lot on core so I usually take pieces of them and make my own.

Haha anytime if it's going to help out. High reps with low weights is best for you to stay toned. :P
As for people I'm still sticking to cardio on the track/anywhere because of the significant reduction of calories. Actual aerobic exercises that requires full leg movement work more muscles than staying on a piece of plastic.
Man did I kill this thread :P

EA's Active 2 (PS3 version, anyway) lets you use either resistance bands or dumb bells, along with arm and leg tracking sensors and a constant heart-rate monitor and includes everything from planks, push-ups, crunches, to weight lifting excercises like hammer-curls and tricep extensions, to cardio such as foot-fires, running (in place), cardio boxing, to a dozen varieties of squats and lunges. It's pretty much every bit as much as a workout as you'd get going to a gym, unless you are doing serious weight-training... and really, assuming your ps3 was somewhere with a solid enough floor to handle it, there's nothing stopping you from replacing the resistance band with dumbells or free weights when doing things like shoulder presses and curls...[QUOTE="ScottMescudi"]

Please man, in the real world, these stupid device workouts are a disgrace in body building/getting fit and losing kilo calories won't do a dang thing. Like my last post: do you think Jay Cutler, Lance Armstrong, and the millions of slim people used these devices? It's all marketing/PR dung. Will EA's Active 2 spot you on your last negative reps for heavy benching and the other compound exercises? These devices are just like the shake weight. :P
EDIT: Wheres StrongDeadlifts and Squatsareawesome when I need them!?

Is it really that hard to get out of the house and go for a run? Or hell, go play soccer or basketball with friends.

I think Kinect works better because it doesn't register your movements half the time so you have to do them again and again.

They're more like workout dvds than they are shakeweights... only with the added benefit of some method of tracking to help motivate you to stick with it. Obviously they aren't for intended for professional bodybuilders or pro athletes, I don't know why you keep bringing up Cutler and Armstrong... They are for people who want a structured workout without having to leave their home to do it or wanting to spend money on monthly gym memberships and clas.ses.yah, i go to karate, weight lift, run, can do 10 solid dead hang pull ups (navy seals avg 6-10 ) and i still find your fitness evolves offers something a bit differnt, these are aerobic excersices, alot of toning for legs, a lot of them are designed to be used with light dumbells, they are beneficial and provide a bit of structure, they are real workouts.[QUOTE="savagetwinkie"][QUOTE="ScottMescudi"]
