So what are the BEST controllers ever released?
Gamecube controller it fits my hand perfectly and my hand never get tired using it. The button layouts are superb (save for the Z-Button)funsohng
Yeah I thought the layout was fine but the controller felt like a cheap plastic toy. Maybe I just have a strong grip, but it creaked and moaned anytime I did anything to it.
PS and original xbox controllers aer/where badddddd. PS is awful for FPS, everything is way to close and scrunched together and Xbox contoller was to big to get your hands around.
I can't really say I agree at all. I actually didn't mind the Atari Jaguar controller even though that numeric pad was really redundant. It at least felt good in my hands.
The Duke on the Xbox was also one of the better ones I'd say. It was big, but finger cramps? I do NOT remember that, or any of my friends complaining about it. The S controller was definitely a big upgrade though :) I still pwned Halo with the Duke for some reason. Always had to play with that if I wanted to absolutely dominate friends in LAN parties :D
The Atari 5200 I can agree with, the Power Glove I definitely agree with, but I'd put in the Dualshock before considering the Duke or the Jag controller.
Oh, didn't see you asked for a list of best controllers as well. Well? My favorite picks are
360 controller at the top - Perfectly contours to your hands, nothing is scrunched up. Regardless of the D-Pad being bad it's hardly used anyways.
Dreamcast controller - Another controller that contours perfectly, but the D-Pad kinda hurt to use, and the thumbstick was just a little too far to the left imo.
And in 3rd place I think I'd have to go with the SNES pad. Light, comfortable, great buttons and D-Pad.

I recall when PS1 first came out I played Battle Arena Toshinden with the PS controller and got blisters on my thumb, and this is from someone who at the time was putting in 20+ hours a week on the SNES. There was no excuse for it. That D pad was terrible.

I juts remember trying to play Killzone 1 and being unable to use the joysticks. way to close to each other. IMO 360 contorller is the bets. Its comfy, everything is spaced right and IMO the sticks are placed perfectly for shooters. D pad is iffy though, but I dont use it that much.

Worst? I'd say best, unless you're talking about shooters.
TC asked what the best controllers ever are :P
Never used this controller, but seems like several people think this is the worst...

ps3, 360 and wii
i have broken atleast one of each already lol
ps3 has a weakness at the L1L2 R1R2 gaps, if its used to much or falls on that point the whole controller breaks
360 has a issue with the triggers aswell as the buttons are spaced to far, i broke the top right trigger on my 360 controller and its stuck inside the controller
wii i thew it at my tv lol i forgot the strap one day while playing bowling XD lol oh and its a bit confusing to use
but all the consoles beffore then were pretty good
Gamecube (the A button was way too big and caused problems in a lot of games)
PS3 (can we please swap the D-pad for the Analog? I don't have very big hands and it still cramps me up playing shooters)
The Duke (sorry It was just oo big and ugly lol)
No, its not. The directional bottons were way too small and so was the analog stick. The botton lay out was wierd and the whole controller felt like a cheap toy made in China. I REALLY dont understand why everyone says GC controller is the best.Gamecube controller was the best.

You must have gigantic hands or something, because I really don't know what you're talking about.
This one, the "Fighting Stick" from capcom for the SNES
Not only was more expensive, it was crap, if you were to good with SFII Turbo, you actually bought one of these to give yourself some challenge
[QUOTE="Prydes"]Every controller that isn't the PS3 controller is the worst controller ever.clone01trey 4 life? what is your reasoning behind that opinion? There's reasoning behind that opinion?

lol wut the n64 was the worse controller for fps just look at it.
Best controllers: Dual Shock Series, Xbox 360 controller, and Gamecube
Worst: Too many to list...
Worst controller that seems to be overlooked: N64... This thing was clearly designed for a different species and while growing up the controller just got more and more uncomfortable...

You must have baby hands. In moh I kept usingdiffrent functions by accident because of how small the d pad is.

Ok, but i never said the PS was the worst. IN general I didnt like it. I never played an FPS for the N64, because could tell it wouldnt work. Like the PS contoleers dont. The sticks are to loose and close to each other. Plus the bumpers are a joke.
