Worst GOTY result?

What do you think was a really bad Game of The Year call or an upset?

I have to say: GEOW over Company of Heroes on Gamespot. Yeesh.

Maybe World of Warcraft over Half-Life 2 as well.

World of Warcraft totaly deserved GOTY. Much more impressive and revolutionary then HL2 was, and I love me some Half Life lol.Eddie-Vedder

Popularity does not indicate a revolution in terms of Gameplay.

HL2 has unprecedented levels of storytelling due to its atmosphere, visuals and voice acting. Physics are incorporated into puzzles like few other games have. Additionally HL2 led to the arrival of Steam and digital distribution.

This year something like Gears 2 or MGS4 is going to get GOTY.

It should be Fable 2. (such an incredible game)

Fable would be my last pick for goty . Gears when it won it in 06 . What a joke .MrsWakka

Fable 2 essentially did everything it promised and then some.
By the time you do the first major quest (youll know it when you do it) you realize that this game is a ****c.

WOW is polished? Not really. For a pc game, yes. But a polished game is something like FF (not so much 12) or Halo. Everything just feels right.

WOW is polished? Not really. For a pc game, yes. But a polished game is something like FF (not so much 12) or Halo. Everything just feels right.

and did you say Halo?tell me how Halo is polished in any way. I haven't played FF so I don't know anything about it. But from what I heard its not a role-playing game in alot of ways.

Believe me, I know the love of GF from the hardcore crowd. It is still a controversial choice however. It would be like Braid taking it this year.

Grim Fandego deserved to win it...it was a marvelous game...and TBH I suspect that even without Grim, OoT still wouldnt have won, there were many other high quality games released that year.

wow is the game of the century .....>.> its one game what can accomplish what not even xbox live can get me to accomplish....Pay for it....

Hell Im not even playing for the past couple of months...and Im still paying....I have no intention of buying the expansion when it comes out.....Nor do I plan on canceling my account...
