There are already several threads disussing intros and endings...
Anyways, i don't know, i haven't really played any games with bad intros or endings. Except MW2, for the ending. And ACB.
Worst ending may go to BioShock 1's good ending. It was just easy and out of place. "And they lived happily ever after." Yeah, that surely ends the quasi-philosophical storytelling on an intellectual note. BioShock 2 did this 10x better.
And of course every cliffhanger in existance. FEAR 2, The Conduit, etc. The point of finishing a game is to get a sense of satisfaction or fulfillment, not to announce the next game whilst leaving everyone staring at the screen in awe wondering if "that's it?"
Worst intro? I dunno, maybe The Scourge Project. The overly masculine, stereotypical, wannabe-tough approach wasn't cool when Brute Force did it almost a decade ago, and it certainly isn't cool now. The whole game sucked, though, so at least it was consistent. Also, Just Cause 2: *yawn*, just let me explore the island.
Dragon Age 2, while I laud it for taking different narrative route, has a lackluster, cliffhanger ending.
Starcraft 2, bad short ending. (though jaw-droppingly beautiful )
Worst intro would be Crysis. Ending, probably Halo Reach.TheMoreYouOwn
Reach's ending was great! You'd honestly say it has the worst ending in a game you've played?

What are u talkin about i found it to be one of the best endings in a long time. Pretty mch sums up what reach is about Surviving .

Reach's ending could have been so much better. I was completely let down by the games climax.Resident Evil has such a terrible intro that I enjoy it every time.

RE intro is so bad, it's actually good... ah how I miss the good old days!!
Anyway, worst ending this gen... I'd give it to AC.
Man, it's like they didn't even try to wrap it up: just activate eagle vision.. credits roll. WTF is that??? Glad to see ACII and ACB do a better job than that PoS. Much better job.
I hated FF8's ending, well.. I loved it and thought it was incredible, until it went happy mode -.-DiviniuzThere had to be some closure and a happy ending or else I would of throw myself out of a window Lies and blasphemy, they threw away the best, most amazing, negative ending in any game/movie, I say, ff8 was the best game ever up 'til that point, that transition into happy-go-lucky rainbows time.
I've never played a TBS with a good ending. Usually, you just get a text box that says "Congratulations, you win!"
IDK about intro, but the worst ending I can think of off the top of my head is Mafia 2. Holy **** I was really enjoying that game, and the ending almost soured my whole experience. Now Mafia 1, that was a wonderfully chilling ending.
hmm worst intro is tough. I can't really think of any intro to a game I've played that was objectively horrible from a gameplay/story standpoint. closest I can think of is bad company 2's beginning that is pretty much irrelevant to the actual campaign. Vanquish's is pretty underwhelming too, very long and worthless cutscenes.
I can think of plenty with bad endings though. Halo 2, Fable 2. Plenty of final fantasy esque games with a nonsensical last boss with 5 stages. Starcraft 2 literally went with the Joe Raynor ending people were joking about before release as so ridiculous it wouldn't happen. The Half-Life franchise is cliffhanger city. Crysis has a lame ending. Crysis 2's is better but still rather crappy. Assassin's Creed is getting famous for cliffhangers that suck but still make you want to know what's next.
Worst two endings I can think of are God of War 3 and Dragon Age 2. Quick, anti - climatic messes that made little sense and offered ZERO resolve. Worst intro I can think of is Crysis 2, hands down. That crap had me laughing. lolMrSelf-Destruct
Haven't played DA2, but yeah GoW3 was pretty bad... totally forgot about it. Anyway I still think the AC ending was just a massive pile of **** and therefore the worst ending this gen.

I'm surprised people even made it to the end of AC. lol
I liked it a lot. yeah i liked it a lot too. it was climactic and it made sense , according always to original greek mythology
Kratos released hope to mankind making mankind that way free instead of giving it to athena and thus making her control mankind
Worst ending goes to Killzone 3. what was that? very dissapointing. i really disliked Mgs4 ending. too long and seemed forced to me. was i supposed to cry o? i did not know how to feel. i sure wanted this damn thing to END!!!GOW3 ending was pretty bad.

The "hope" thing was actually the only redeeming part for me. It is a little known part of greek mythology so I was quite impressed to see them include it. However, the rest of it just ridiculous.GOW3 ending was pretty bad.

ACB's ending legitimately pissed me off, I feel like they put it in there just for "teh sh0ckzorz!" It honestly almost ruined the whole game for me, which is a shame because I was actually enjoying it up until then. :(And as much as I hate to admit it, KZ3's ending didn't really settle well for me, it felt a little meh. I stared at the screen wondering "...what?" I felt like if they spent even five more minutes on the ending of KZ3, it would've been amazing, but it lacked the emotional punch they were going for, at least in my opinion.
Borderlands, despite being such a great game. I would have raged so hard if I didn't know about the DLC.
Enslaved had a pretty anticlimatic ending. Crysis 2's was also underwhelming.
One I'm not too sure about is Assassin's Creed Brotherhood. It was an extremely intense cliffhanger which I both loved and disliked...
Disappointing is an understatement. I just couldn't believe it. I thought it was just a big fat joke, but it wasn't :(Mafia 2, very dissappointing ending.

monster-hunt
you must not play very many games if you think killzone 3 has one of the worst endings. you blow a planet up. thats at least something.
one of the real worst endings is fear 2. you fight a possessed comrade who flops around like a Gmod dummy and then Alma rapes you and gets herself pregnant?....... what the ****?
Best ending would be Halo: Reach (Bungie really crafted amasterpiece)Sp4rtan_3
no
- it was anticlimactic as hell. there is no last ditch effort to escape the planet and punch through the fleet. there is no showdown with a key antagonist. the conflict doesnt reach its its peak.
- you leave the game knowing nothing that you didnt already know before. this game totally botches the backstory of master cheif. they had an opportunity to show us the development and intruiging backstory featured in the book "fall of reach" and they failed.
- it leaves no emotional resonance and it ruins the deaths of Master Cheif's comrades. partially by making the characters boring and vacuous, partially giving them nonsensical pointless deaths, and also by never properly explaining their long backstory together.
- it doesnt have a solid tone of either tragedy or triumph. it has no tone at all.
is it the worst ending ever? no. but it certainly isnt good.
