I am thinking of getting Crysis for my laptop however I generally don't like playing games on the small laptop screen for some reason. If I plugged my laptop into my TV via HDMI would the graphics still be amazing or would they be blown out?

BTW, I can run Crysis on high-highest graphics settings.

Depends on the resolution you run it. Can your laptop run it in 1920x1080?

It depends on how far you're going to be sitting from your tv. If you can't sit within the recommended viewing distance it'll actually look better on your laptop.

Yeah I used to run it on my 46 inch and it was amazing. Definitely worth it. If you don't already have one, a $0.01 HDMI cable from amazon will do you well

I really wish they released Crysis on the Xbox 360 or the Playstation 3. As a Mac user I don't play games on it, not that I can't I just don't like "PC" gaming.

Yeah Im with you there. The multiple screens thing really does not work for me at all simply because of the bars in between

this is where its all at

You can get good settings but at 1080p you might get high settings with AA but not 8xAA at very high.

You can probably run it fine with CUDAATS:

http://www.filefront.com/11304950/C.U.D.A.A.T.S.-CCC-2.21/

Choose Level 4 and make sure to install Ultima's ToDs. You'll get decent framerates at 1920x1080 with no AA :)

tc, as long as ur computer can support decent resoultions at a good framerate with the game, then the game will look awesome on a big screen... so long as the screen can keep up with the action

i must add- on a plasma or DLP you will very little motion blur... but if ur running on an LCD (unless u have 120HZ or better setting) you may experiece enough motion blur to make the game look crappy.

Crysis + ATI5870 + 50inch Elite Kuro = Outstanding, so yeah I'd say it looks great on a 50inch.

It will look better at monitor or latop display than in a tv screen, even with 50", since the field of vision which covers is much bigger in monitor due the small distance between your eyes and the display and the smaller pixels.

Yes TC if you run it at high at high res it will look amazing even at 720p. I've hooked my laptop up to a 50 inch tv and played games like Half Life 2 @ high @720p with AA and AF, it looks great.

True enough, though it depends on what type of monitor/tv you play it on. Personally I'll compromise some field of vision to play on my Elite which has much better colour/blacks/etc. than my monitor. (also I don't have a 7.1 surround sound set hooked up to my PC :P)

I ran Crysis very high on my Panasonic 50" Plasma at 1366x768 with 4xAA and it looked beautiful with my HD4890 and it lagged a lot especially in gun fights, playing it with out AA worked a lot better but it looked a lot worse, if fact it looked better on high with 4xAA. At 1080p with a HD4870 I would recommend keeping it on high if you actually want to play the game, if you want to look at it then play it on very high.

At the lower resolutions up to 1440x900, I found out these settings maintained a sharper and better overall image for Crysis than simply setting all sliders to High/Very High. Very High specially at lower resolutions looked like crap to me. AA can vary although I leave mine at 2xAA.

Very High: Textures, Objects, Water

High: Shaders, Volumetric

Medium: Shadows

Everything else at low

Technically if you had one of this rediculous resolution projectors...

http://gizmodo.com/5018448/nhk-projector-features-insane-7680-x-4320-8k-resolution

7680x4320 resolution.... and then you modify the the Crysis ini files to run at that resolutions.... then 16AA and all the bells and whistles it would even look amazing on a cinema sized screen.

That's the beauty of PC... there are no limits. To just put things in perspective most games on consoles run at 720p.... if you run crysis at 1080p and connect it to your TV it will obviously look much better.
