its not gonna happen so why even bother thinking about it?st1ka
True. If they get really desperate they'll just do another merger.
Why would they? Square enix focuses on the market that the 360 fails in no matter how hard they try it would seem a waste of money for both parties.Jynxzor
If that's the case why is so many of their games exclusive or timed-exclusive to the X360 (actually all of them are except FF13 now witch is day/date multiplat)? Technically you are right however Square looks to be a default 2nd party dev to MS right now (aside making Wii games)
I would have laughed at the idea of MS trying to buy square but what would really be that different? Aside from losing FF series, it's not like Square has been supporting PS3 really. Timed exclusives are a ***** slap so I can't believe cows like getting lems scraps.
not only do i think MS should buy square, but sony as well, then publicly demolish all remaining ps3s in stock.
How that?

People like you are the reason why I don't like lemmings.
I wouldn't mind since the only next-gen system I own at the moment is 360. But I doubt this would ever happen, as far as I know Square has never been owned by a console manufacturer. They are, and always have been a third party company, although they primarily focus on one console for their games (with spinoffs and other games on different systems). I think this direction their taking now though is a good direction for them and will only help to build their fanbase.
Personally I would rather MS buy Sega, and turn them back into the company they once were.
