Would RARE had been better off staying with Nintendo?

I think they would have. The look of their games fit in better with Nintendo. Banjo would've sold more on Wii. PDZ would have been praised to death on Wii while on 360 it's just another shooter. Kameo never stood a chance on 360. I think even franchises like Conker and Killer Instinct fit in better with Nintendo. The look of the games are just different from anything on 360.

What do you guys think?

no not really, rare are either making outdated games, or they are making games that are just not as good as they was on n64. I presume it's the latter, switching over to Nintendo won't give them more opportunities, unless Nintendo work closely with them and try to brig the quality of their games back up.

I think PDZ would've been on the GC than on the Wii.

Rare is doing a great job (AAA/AA games) but on the 360 lineup context they are just good games. Im sure games like banjo, viva pinata and kameo would be AAA on the Wii considering the majority ot its games are just average! Just my opinion...

I doubt things would differ from what Rare is today. As I mention in another topic Rare is only a developer name, the heart and soul that created the lovely AAA titles in the past have long left the company leaving the current devs to try and fill the huge shoes they left behind. Rare was on the decline after the N64 era...They made several attempts to try to fix itself during the GC days but was unable to produce the gems they made during its previous years. Nintendo is smart, they cut their dead weight well before it became a festering blister, hemorraging money from the company. Unfortanately MS bought the shinned up lemon of a company thinking that Ninty had a moment of stupidity for letting them go and now MS knows what Ninty knows....Rare is not the same developers they once were.

Game On...

In this era that would be like the blind leading the blind in regards to quality....Nintendo has seriously slipped in that department. Game On...

I know that, that's why I mentioned it. If they'd return to Nintendo, Rare could pick up DK again and make a new DK country. We will never know what would've happend if they never left.

What made DK Country so great was its art style, graphics, and gameplay. In this era the graphics wont have the drawing power it once had and traditional platforming titles have all migrated to the 3D plane. IMO I dont think Rare is strong enough to flip a 3D DK and make it feel like a DK title without it being a generic adventure game with DK characters...you saw what they did to Star Fox Adventures. Game On...

Speculation much? They don't have the licensing to James Bond games anymore... that is your first fail. Second failure would be thinking they they would put Kill Instinct on the Wii, they most likely would have put out the exact same games on the Wii. Banjo might have been a little different but I bet Viva Pinata would have still been developed.

Yes, much better off. But maybe i'm just saying that because I haven't turned on my Wii since December and a new Donkey Kong would keep me from selling it.

They would probably have more sales. Most of their games don't appeal to the 360's core audience Microsoft writes their checks anyway though, don't they?

Bad game design is Bad game design. The only difference of Rare staying with nintendo would be the willingness of Wii owners to purchase the game. Essentially if they are willing to buy crap, then yes, it would sell better on wii

Devs are good when paired up with Nintendo because Nintendo makes sure they do a good job by giving help and support something M$ does not have in the gaming market.

Also, we could see their SNES/N64 games on VC.
