If the Xbox 720, PS 4 or Both went totally Digital Distribution (No physical Media) would you buy them or would you jump ship to the Console like Nintendo or the one that offered physical media?
This topic is locked from further discussion.
Definitely. I love DD and I've got a good enough internet connection to support it. In fact, I'll probably not buy a physical game for anything other than my Nintendo systems next gen. That is if Sony and Microsoft dowell by PSN and XBLA with the next systems.
[QUOTE="lundy86_4"]LMAO. No offense dude but a PC gamer with a bandwidth cap is like a auctioneer with a speech impediment.No. I don't have enough bandwidth. Is bad enough when my bro and I are downloading PC DD.

Not at all. When you live in the Niagara region of Canada, this is who you can go with: Cogeco. Cogeco offers bandwidth caps on all packages.
No smaller companies, such as Tekksavvy, offer anything in my area (that's worthwhile). I don't want an unlimited bandwidth at less than 5/mbps.

It's like that in all of Ontario, we get screwed, I'm with bell but my limit is 100gb a month, so its good enough, but the limits on internet, and even cell phones here are ridiculous.
Back on topic, I would never buy a console that was download only unless if there were no other options.

It's kind of ridiculous. The next step up for me is 175gb a month at 30/mbps, but that's close to $70 on top of TV and the landline :(
I've never been with Bell, but that's not too bad for a limit (only 20gb's more than myself). They seriously need to upgrade the infrastructure in Canada/NA.
Easily DD. It's undeniably the future, whether it be next gen, or 50 years from now. Not going to deny change simply for the sake of denying it.
Yes I would, it is the future, I love having all my games in one place, no disk cases littered around the place plus its nice to start the download then go to work, come back and its finished. I'd normally have to rush down to the game shop in my 30min lunch break then rush back or wait till the weekend to buy my games.

I wouldn't get a console just because of that reason... but I wouldn't not get one because of that either.
Never! I am completely against DD and already have reservations about owning a PS3 given the amount of DD on that.
No. The reason it works on PC is because there is enough competition to make the prices worth the trade off of not owning the physical media. I would hate to have to be locked into a situation where I would have one company control all prices on that specific console. white_soxPretty much what I was going to post.

What does your point stand on? It certainly isn't a leg.
You can be a PC gamer without even using DD if you so please. The majority of games are retail releases.
Regardless, I survive. I only buy a few games a month anyway.
LMAO Steam like deals only seem good when you compare it to gamestop. FYI if you go to gamestop odds are you're going to get ripped off. Amazon most of the time has good or better deals than Steam. And you actually get a copy of the game and "OWN" it unlike Steam. This poll is a bit stupid.
It really deppends wheter or not the console has "steam like" deals or not.

thats a lie lolI wouldn't even buy a console even if it came with two free half naked women who would pleasure me to no extent, let alone Digtial Distribution.

IT IS NOT! :x
....welll....maybe a little but that's beside the point!
:P
unless we get huge discounts on games i would not even think about it. I love having a real collection of games. Also Digital content is locked down you cant do anything with it and you can be locked out of your games like on steam.

Same here...
Fully DD console would suck a lot for gamers,it would give Sony/MS/Nintendo a full control over game and On-line pricing, and we all know very well what would happen then...
For example,if Steam was a monopoly in PC gaming, and retail PC sales didn't exist,we wouldn't see any of them awesome Steam sales, that's for sure.Instead,we would be ripped-off in every way possible...
DD can exist fine on PC only because it's an open platform,so yeah, competition is there, although Steam still takes a large majority of PC DD sales(I think something like 75%)...
I don't care if Nintendo offered it or another electronics company. If the system has games I'm intrested in, I may buy it, though I do like my physical copies. If the Xbox 720, PS 4 or Both went totally Digital Distribution (No physical Media) would you buy them or would you jump ship to the Console like Nintendo or the one that offered physical media?

my dsl line is only 4.5Mb sooo downloading a 8GB game would take a long time plus games are already getting much bigger than 8GB. Also what kind of HDD would the system need to have? a pretty big one I'd say.
