All this talk about the DC2 Rumor made me remember a article in GI a few months back. The article had a few quotes from Square Enix saying that they want to get into the console war. I am sure you could google the quotes anyways I was wondering if anyone would get this and why?
No, because Square-Enix hasn't made a game I really, really liked since the first Kingdom Hearts.
Maybe if they were going to go back to the days when they released great games that didn't have "Final Fantasy" in the title, but certainly not now.

True i am a squaresoft fan more than a Square-Enix i agree with you. but at the same time SE would be first party and probably make all their game exclusive as a marketing strategy. So KH3, FF14, DQ10 and other I can't think of would be for the Sqaure Console only. Would you get it then? Alot of people would (I think lol)
Square Enix needs to start resurrecting its older franchises first. I understand that spinoffs ar easy to make and give you lots of money SE, but you are slowly destroying the FF name your company is built on. Put some money into making a new chrono game, or a new console FFT game, or maybe a decent Mana game, among many other franchises that are great and which you have let die.
I would also be nice if you made the FF sidequests fun instead of tedious. FF IX's card game was the last fun FF sideques/minigame i remember. FF X's sidequests 'capture 10 of every monster!', 'dodge 200 lightning bolts!', 'butterfly game!' minigame sidequests were exceptionally terrible.

Why would I want to buy the FinalFantasyDragonQuest Gamestation? With hit ports of FF and DQ, and even better family games like FF and DQ spin offs. WOW!

They would have to do more than just RPGs to be viable as a console.
Looking at how Square games from the SNES to the PS1, Square-Enix would build a console that is extremely out of balance, and that only SE would be able to use it.
