would you buy a PS3 if the D-pad and the left analog stick were swapped?  I would.  Well, actually I still wouldnt because the games still suck.  But it would definately be a better setup.  I hate stretching my left thumb all the way down for long periods of time.

I would buy it if.

1) PS Home turns out good

2) They get rid of this six axis crap

3) Good games

I'm currently saving for a PS3, but actually it's just money there. I have enough for one, but I'm waiting still.

I still wouldn't buy a PS3, but it would definitely make it more attractive.

I would spend $600 for a PS3 if:
The controller had rumble and longer handles.
Solid, reliable hardware.
A huge library of AAA games that I like.
A unified, free online.
I could download and game at the same time.
It came with a free HDTV.
It gave me a foot massage whenever I wanted.

At the end of the year when some of the bigger PS3 titles have been launched, I would spend up to $1,000 for a PS3 console alone.  Why not?  The HDTV is going to be $3,000, and the surround system is going to be $1,000.  Might as well spread that cake around a little bit.

Not really. The controller isn't what really what turns me off of the PS3.
