Never. Games are great, but camping out next to people who are like i'll so pwnerize you n00b in guardian, is not worth any game. Plus, sleep is the most important thing in my life, well not really but it's up there.
I wouldnt do it for either a console or a game, whats the point other than to waist time, and then you will be like those people that go "OMG I TEH GOT IT FIRST THEREFORE IM TEH BEST." Then everyone else with a life is like.... Who cares, we will get it in like a week or two, big deal...lol
If I had to camp out (limited release with no pre-orders) for a Metroid Prime series mega-ultra edition (Prime 1,2,3 (1&2 Wii-makes) with artbooks, soundtracks, making-of documentaries and ZSS statue) then yes I would.
I'm not sure about down there in the USbut up here in Canada, it's a pretty good, memorableexperience camping for a game or console. Everyone's friendly and excited, cracking jokes and talking/arguing about all these various games and consoles throughout history to pass the time.
I'd definitely camp out for a limited edition of games such as MGS4, FF XIII and Versus XIII, RE 5, DMC 4
The only game I would even think in my life for staying for quite a few hours would be something along the lines of Fallout 3 or Mass Effect, I'd only do it with friends though.
I'm not sure what game it'd be for, but after my Wii campout, I probably would. I thought my Wii campout was fun, everyone was really nice, and it was quite positive.
Halo 3 midnight and I have it preordered! Why? Its fun, plus I don't want to wait an hour once the store opens (everyone paying and what not). Going up to my local Gamestop with a few buddies, bringing some pizzas and a few laptops (wifi)!
i will never camp out for a game or a console. i will just wait for the game or console is availible or ill wait for a price drop/s(console) or ill wait till that the game is in the bargin bin for $20. I doesnt matter when i get the game as long as i get to experience it.
Oh heck no I will go. No game or system is worth my sleep even if I am up most of the time. If I can not get smash this year o while soon as possible but no camping with strangers.
Well if I didn't have to get up early for work in the morning, I would probably go to one of the halo 3 launch parties. It would probably be pretty fun. I don't really consider that camping out though.
If I was going to get the game a week early, with some free schwag, and it was like, Diablo 3 or GTA: World or something similarly amazing, I would sleep in a ditch with evil mutant rats.
The EB bloke told me about the midnight release but I cat see myself waiting in line at midnight for a game even if it is HALO 3. I guess ill have to wait and see.
