I wouldn't care more or less because I wouldn't use it, the public would probably like it. I think my efforts are better spent on improving myself in real life than it would be to sit around controling a virtual me..... If I switch on a game it's to play it, not to live it. =)...but then again, that's just me.

I think we can safely say they won't bring out a PShome copy, it would take to long to develope for it to be worth it. If they did though you could be sure it would put sony's version to shame.

I would hate it although I think it is quite novel and can see why others might go for it.

It would be ok for a week or so then it would get old real fast.

If I want a life-sim I would buy the Sims or Second Life. It's just an obvious attempt to grab your money for all the accessories that go with your avatar. Give me a full-featured, easy to navigate online service anyday. I hope they don't force you to use Home to navigate the online side of things. Can you imagine having to run round the block to check your friendlist? or running down the shops to download a demo.

Not really. I think it would be stupid, just as PS Home is, but maybe they would add something like it for people with gold membership.

If WoW comes to 360 (as has been rumored), then...who cares? Console gamers typically have decent social lives. The people who are way in to Second Life aren't gamers but weird adults who don't go to parties with mobs of friends, but pay people to talk about having sex with them over the internet. I don't see Home being that much different -- except for the fact that in Second Life you can buy cars and build entire buildings, etc. There are some minigames or whatever but, seriously? Compared to a full-fledged MMO I don't see anything in Home which caters to gamers.

Oh and to answer the question, I think Sony fans on these boards would clamor on and on about how MS were copying Home (and probably charging for it), and MS fans would fire back about how much better than Home it was. Realistically they wouldn't do that unless it WAS much better than what Sony had. If they do they should make it more like Second Life, much more customizable and sell it on a disc, rated M or AO so they wouldn't have to fuss as much about parental controls (Sony's looking at a potential nightmare in that regard). It's a niche thing so I doubt it would sell well but considering the bulk of the content would be user-created, they wouldn't have to spend much to make it and thus it could sell as a budget title. Anyway, I would consider it if it were really cheap (i.e. less than $600) but only to see what it's all about...I have too many parties to attend with my friends and physical sex to be having with girls to invest much time in a Second Life clone!

There's no way MS will go out of their way to complicate their already established online system. What they have works fine, and is completely integrated in games.

With that being said, I know this question is just hypothetical. So, first and foremost I wouldn't want MS destroying what they already have. I wouldn't want some second life round about 3d world to access any messages, play arcade games, or contact my friends to get into a game. XBL is already integrated into everything the moment you turn on your 360.

If they just added on this as an extra feature, then I wouldn't mind as much. If Xbox 360 silver users can access regional online games and go about it using a 3d online service, it would be fine with me. The part about plagiarising Sony's idea is a little iffy though. It would have to be different of course, and they would need to improve on Sony's plan. That's just the nature of business.

They would be very foolish to do that, and look very desperate.

They would also make it look like XBL is inferior to PSN/HOME

I don't think they need to have fake people walk aound in rooms of a set amount of people when all of the core features are all set and working fine. They don't need to copy they need to continue to reform live by linking pc's to the 360 and more creatively connection ideas like that. Sony has already said that many of the core features of home will not be simple. Until they have the core issues running smoothly they will not be able to compete. They have created a great way to get ad revenue and I think that was the true reason for home, making money on ad's and microtransactions that are greatly different than their competitors.

Why, i dont hate sony for copying achievments. If you think about it its all already there, just without the apartment to customise and TBH, i'll be playing rather than wiating hours putting my online credits in a new sofa and being bombarded by ads, but you never know i guess
