We know that when Splinter Cell: Conviction first had its previews like three years ago, the gameplay was very different from the release one today, and that Sam Fisher looked different with the beard, hair, and everything. Would you have prefered it if they made it like originally was or are you happy how it turned out in the release of the game?

Original version:

He was throwing chairs at homeless people in that version.:|

I don't know what I would make of it, since I never got to play even a demo of that.

Personally i think they made a good choice going with what they got. The hobo sam was a cool idea and i liked it, but it was essentially assassians creed in modern times. Thats cool and everything but i rather have something different, and we get that with conviction.

I like the idea of the new one, but I have to admit this one looked way more interesting. I loved the way they were using... is it called social stealth? It would have been quite interesting. Hard to believe a game with day levels seemed more based around stealth than the current version. Maybe they can use the concept on their next one and then change their mind again and delay the hell out of it.

It looked a lot more interesting, impossible say how it would had actually turned out.

No. That was not even close to a splinter cell game.

Hobo Same fits Michael Ironside's voice better, but I dunno. I thought the beard was cool. :P

ubisoft actually refused this type of gameplay citing that the game's similarities with assassin's creed was uncanny

like, the way you could hide in a crowd , the sandbox style of gameplay and the how the only stealth element would have been just hiding to lose the guards,

i say they made a wise decision scrapping Splinter cell: assassin's creed

Neither this or the concept used is anything a splinter cell fan would've wanted.

Well the original version would be more of a stealth game. Social Stealth could have been a real major progressive move for the series. Here's my problem. Ubisoft are the grand masters of Awesome Concept, Horrible Execution. This game screamed REPETITIVE all over it. It's been the one consistant issue with so many of Ubi's games this gen. They get so repetitive. Assassin's Creed 2 is there best game this gen by a long shot, and even that has it's repetition to some degree(not as much as AC1).

The new conviction talked about blending action with the old SC. That was safer, but it was also something that I honestly thought Ubi could do right. Technically they failed me in that area as well to some degree. Again Grand Masters of Awesome Concept, Horrible Execution.
