Ok, my girlfriend has her own Xbox 360 and her own gamertag.

We're both online and so we go for a few games on Gears of War. Her motto clearly shows shes female. She got kicked out of 5 games before they even started. Are we getting sexist online? She also got kicked from a match after beating the host. Clearly he was a wuss and couldn't handle getting his a$$ handed to him by a girl.

Yes if she was :

A. a Noob and making the other team lose.

B. talking and causing idiot hormone driven males, to not play and just talk, cause they think they gonna get cyber l4id cause they L33T

C. ......  couldn't think of any other reason.

So true. Once my girlfriend realized the headset was used for chatting she insisted on using it while I played gears of war. Fair compriise I thought. Within 5 minutes, pretty much every guy in the game was sending me voice and text messages and wanting to get to know me. I quickly banned her from the microphone, cause it was annoying :)

1. She didn't speak

2. Anyone who can't take getting beat by a girl is a noob by default.

3. You can get kicked in player matches.

So, the Xbox stereotype lives on I guess. It's a 'guy's' system. Playstation 3 is probably the same way. Nintendo of course, always female friendly. I run into the most polite and courteous gamers on Animal Crossing DS, most of them are girls. Same with The Sims 2 community, lots of females ranging from 14-40 creating custom content, and once again, being very friendly. What's the deal with part of the console community? I'd like to know what age groups are to blame for being so shallow.

Not once do I hear 'please' and 'thank you' on Halo 2 or Counterstrike. But on Civilization 4 online, The Sims Online, and Star Wars Galaxies, all players male and female are usually grateful when someone just spends the time to compete and play online with them. Instead of 'Shut up newbie' 'You suck' 'Go to hell' 'You're swipe sniping!'...

I was playing Halo for the PC online, and I got kicked out of a room for flying a plane around and shooting people.  It made me think to myself, "Halo fans are like old farts, if things aren't done their way, they can't adapt, so, they try to eliminate the "problem."

That's one of the reasons why I almost hate Halo.  The fans. 

people in gears are jackasses... i dont play in games with people I dont know.. (well.. that people i dont know are hosting) or I host, because 1/2 the time they kick you as soon as you get in, 1/4 the time they do after the first round, and 1/5 of the time they kick you as soon as you kill one of there team mates, it's retarded.cheatymcshifty

One thing that tends to annoy me but doesn't happen online is newb pwnage.  At my college we'd gather a bunch of people together for a friendly lan game of halo.  This meant we'd gather alot of people that never played before (aka newbs).  Me being a curtious gamer would go easy on them and often even put my handicap on to even the field.  Of course what does my friend do, he pwns newbs with no mercy.  This gets annoying because less people want to play since they have no chance of winning or even learning anything about the game (since my friend steals all the good weapons and ends games in about 2 minutes). I could understand this type of behavior at tourneyments (which we would often destroy other teams, once we beat a team 50 to 8 and they ended up placing 2nd.) anyway it seems I wandered a little, so no I wouldn't kick her just because she's a girl.

I like to treat people by their skill and attitude. The only way I boot people are if they are jackasses or harmful to the team, (killing team mates constantly etc.)  however I know one or two girls that love acting like they suck and dont know how to play just so they can play. What can you say alot of guys dont like competing with girls because they hate losing to them, people need to really get over this whole gender thing, we are all gamers.

U need to play Socom 3 great community, if someone kills you on accident they let you know "sorry man my bad" or give you props when u start tearing it up....never had any conflict in that game with other online players.

Gears' is the only community that rivals Halo's in depravity. "So, I can put on this headset and hear 13 year olds with squeaky voices yell out OWNED *****? Or armchair soldiers asking where I live so we can 'fight' after I kill them a couple of times? **** yeah, where do I sign up?!?" The people I've come across on XBL are the main reason I haven't got a 360 yet. Even the Counter-Strike community isn't so bad because less of them have headsets. Can you form private groups in XBL? Password protected servers or anything?

I must be playing on a different XBL. The majority of people i've played with on Gears seems alright, ranked and player matches. I've been kicked from player matches a couple of times for taking the sniper when the kiddie host wanted it or accidently stealing a kill, but that's about it.

Also i don't believe she was kicked for being female, why would anyone do that? Maybe you're not giving the full story.

I think it is well known that Halo 2 and Gears have the worst communities on XBL.  My girlfriend casually games, but it is disappointing when she tries to play certain games (no shooters but Halo 2) and because of her rank gets booted a bunch.  I can understand getting booted here and there, but it can be a little excessive on some nights.  The 'noobs' have to level up somehow.

Aside from that, I love it when she plays on-line.  Sometimes she won't say anything, and then when all the guys really get going she'll say hi, and there is just this wave of apologies for language, a remark they made, etc...  Sometimes she will talk and guys try to hit on her and she has some great responses to them, but there also guys who have issues with being beat by a girl bad.  I've seen a couple people disconnect right at the end.  Some you can tell do it all the time, but some go on this little tirade before disconnecting that is just uncomfortable, but pretty funny.

Yes its very sad. GoW can be a great game with friends but if you join XBL live and don't know anyone with XBL from the real world it can be almost impossible to get to know anyone on there without having to put up with the sexisum, racism and so on.
