People are getting tired of the current PS controller. It been basically the same for 3 generations. People want change. They want something new and fresh.

Nah. I dont think we really need new form factors on the same old, same old. The dual shock and 360 pad designs could both use minor improvements like better triggers and concave analogs on the dual shock and a much better dpad on the 360 pad. But all in all they feel fine.
If Sony does change the controller I want it to be because they are doing something new like the Wii U. Not because they want to change the shape just for the hell of it.
Um....why does the current PS controller even need changing? It's fine. The only real change I could really get on board with is switching the placements of the dpad and left analog stick, and making L2 and R2 proper triggers.

That's the biggest change it needs definitely.
It's the only controller I've ever used where my thumbs can actually run into each other (which makes for some anti-fun when it comes to gaming).
Or they could keep the design, and just make the mid-section of the controller a few centimeters wider, so that the analog sticks aren't so close together.

That, and I believe they should concave the analogs. I don't even care about offsetting the analog to be honest. Concave the analog tips and fix the triggers. That's all I want.
No, I wouldn't. I would hate to have the boomerang as the default controller. Sony heard gamers cries when we all first saw it. I'm glad they went mostly with a DS2 design. I would like the PS4 to give me the choice between using buttons or triggers. For me, the Dualshock 2 was the best controller I'd ever used. The DS3 is basically the same, the only thing is they made it have two triggers instead of regular buttons, which I think felt better. Now they feel like buttons that give when you press them, I hate that feeling. But the DS3 controller is still a good controller overall.
Please just keep the dualshock and replace the triggers with ones that make sense. Not that I want to see a PS4 anytime soon.
I tried that many times and it never comes back so the answer is, it never comes back. :twisted:the urge to throw it would be too great

I expect it. The Dualshock is outdated and unergonomic. It is crap and I have no idea why Sony treats it like a recognizable brand that needs to be reused every generation. They do nothing but copy Nintendo... so why can't they copy their sense of improvement over old, outdated ideas?foxhound_fox
Technically they did.
The dualshock first came out later in the PS1's life, so it kinda made some sense that it'd transfer right to the PS2.
And then once they actually did try to redesign it for the PS3 everyone complained otherwise it would have actually improved.
The only people I see complaining about the current controller are lemmings and sheep. Why should Sony care what they think over their own fanbase?People are getting tired of the current PS controller. It been basically the same for 3 generations. People want change.
