If the pay to play part was free and the twitter, facebook, cross game chat, party chat, netflix was $60.
Would you still pay for those services even if multiplayer was free?

do you actually need to post this again? as its been posted a billion times before.
it will come down to people dont think it has any value and any one that think it has value is wrong and has no taste among other things.
I've stopped fighting against such folks.
Xbox live does exactly what i want it to do,so i pay for it.Im happy with the service and i dont understand why these threads keep popping up.If u dont have the money to pay the fee then dont get mad at those that do.
Apparently, 3 people like to be ripped off. lolDid you actually think anyone would say yes???

Finally an original response. I'm so sick of people just recycling the same responses on system wars. Thank you demmeus for being a beacon of originality in these dark, dark times. Finally an original thread. I'm so sick of people just recycling the same arguments on System Wars.

Why would I pay for any of that other stuff? Netflix is free on everything else I use, twitter and facebook are useless on Live, ESPN3 is free on the PC and not that great to begin with, they already got rid of 1 vs. 100, and cross-game chat is ok-- but usually I only chat with my friends if I am playing the same game as them.
I would. And before people trollroll me and say I'm a fanboy, the reason is simple: I did my balance for what I spent on the 360 this year, and because I had Gold, I didn't spend or got awarded microsoft points in a value of USD$52,50. And I payed USD$40,00 for my XBL Gold membership, so I ended up saving 12,50 bucks.
Where can we purchase subscriptions in days? Anyways, this had been asked before and the general consensus was no, so there's your answer.Yes, I would pay 23 cents a day for party & cross game chat.

This has to be one of the most ridiculous questions... I wouldn't pay for it. The reason I don't have live is cause you have to pay for it. The other 2 systems do online fo free, but people still pay for Live...

I know cows probably love to read these threads, but everyone else is just sick of them.
Obviously no one would pay for Live in their right mind if Multiplayer was free. We get it, 360 owners are getting shafted. Let it go.

I think that the better question is: Why do they care?most of the people who create these threads don't even own a 360, so why do they care that other people pay for live?
[QUOTE="navyguy21"][QUOTE="campzor"]the only reason people pay for live is for the multiplayer... they are kidding themselves if they say otherwise.campzorI dont :| pat yourself on the back.. ur one of a kind. How do u know that? Maybe you should stop trying to pass your opinion as fact. Just because YOU dont, doesnt mean others, especially outside of this site, dont pay despite not playing much online.

O.o I think if anyone would be most likely to pay for Live despite not playing much online, it would be people on this site, but even most 360 owners here say that's not the case.
if it was just mp with no other features it would not be xbl it would be psn and nobody would pay for psn in it's current form.
the point you are trying to make is broken by the rules you have to enforce to make it.
sorry but logic does not work that way.
Yes, I would pay 23 cents a day for party & cross game chat.

you don't pay 23 cents a day... you pay one lump sum of 60 dollars. Once.
I don't think anyone would seriously say yes unless they were trying to justify their purchases. but who does that honestly? ... :P

See, that is probably why you dont understand. Take your example, you mentioned the causal audience. That demographic are probably more into Netflix, Facebook, Hulu, picture sharing, video chat, single player gaming, arcade games, etc. To those people, anything related to online gaming becomes irrelevant. Cross game chat being one of them. To be honest, i have used cross game chat more and more as i talk to my navy buddies who are playing other single player games. Cross game isnt just for online play. Party chat is another great feature that casuals would enjoy, especially with Kinect. I think some people are thinking to narrowly about this. Live is way more that simply playing online or cross game chat. There is way more than multiplayer that is worth paying for to ME. Who are you (or anyone else) to tell me my decision was wrong?
Isn't there a PSN+ or something service like that on Playstation? If people pay for that I don't know why they wouldn't for an hypotethicaly similar XBL. Obviously most would probably not pay for it since the only reason they actually pay is because they are trapped on MS's web and they want to play multi, but still some people will.
It's like just like GS, some people pay to get extra features and to support the site. I don't and many other the same. I don't see people making a huge deal over that.

You have the option to pay for that which gets you some additional stuff, but multiplayer is free the moment you take ur ps3 out of the box, hook it up, and make an account.
