I just recently picked up Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed (Wii U version) last night (alongside Geist on the GameCube), and while I'm not sure I'd say it's better than Mario Kart (except maybe 64 for what a snore fest that one is, and I barely touched 7), which is a pretty popular opinion on forums like this, I do love how totally off the wall it is.

But with that, I ask, would you like to see a Sonic and All Stars Racing 3?

Bonus question: If so, what guest stars would you like to see?

Me personally, I would (and I just barely got Transformed, though I played the DS version of the first game A LOT). And for characters (including guest stars, which has been a thing since the first game) I'd like to see include...

Bayonetta (apparently Sumo DID consider her for Transformed, but didn't go through in fear of a rating raise, somebody show them Smash 4 which featured Bayonetta, or better yet, show them LEGO versions of R rated Marvel characters in LEGO Marvel Superheroes... then again, this does come from DYKG and their knack for getting some FACTS wrong, like saying Mortal Kombat II on SNES outsold the Genesis version)

Earthworm Jim (for a guest on all systems... if only Interplay finds a buyer for the IP; I pick him because his best games were most well known on SEGA Genesis more so than any other system; bonus if they can get Dan Castellaneta to return to the role)

Captain Falcon (for a guest exclusive to Nintendo systems, which would be fitting after SEGA and AV's help in GX/AX)

Why 3? Was there a 2? Besides that the game is pretty good and I would not mind a sequel.

Transformed was the second one.

Yes, very much so. I wasn't expecting anything after trying out the first game's demo, but SASRT immediately blew me away when I played the Panzer Dragoon and Golden Axe stages. It's so much better than Mario Kart, which I can't stand for how unrewarding it is, and the transforming aspect gives SASRT that unique appeal that I thought the original was missing. Now only if Sumo Digital would stop wasting time with Little Big Planet, or whatever they're working on now, and make another game in this series.

As for new characters, I don't want any guests when there's already so many SEGA characters that were missing in the last one. Put in Team Streets of Rage, the Gunstar Heroes, and more characters from the other franchises that were only represented by having their stages present. Aside from that, I'd like to see them maybe take advantage of all the Technosoft IPs that SEGA owns now and create a Thunder Force or Herzog Zwei level. :D

I definitely would. Sonic Racing Transformed is a very underrated game. I think it's sad that Mario Kart 8 gets so much praise but nobody ever talks about Sonic Racing Transformed when in my opinion Sonic Racing Transformed was a much better game than Mario Kart 8.

Not sure if I'm hungry for another. Can always play Transformed. The game has alot of modes.

But I love the feel of the drifting and handling more than Mario Kart with the on road mechanics. It feels more akin to Trackmania where the handling is a little more receptive to cambers and modulations.

I love the track themes, but I just dont think the circuits are as interesting or as fun as a Mario Kart game. And I dont think the cool idea of the lap and circuit phasing into sea (dull) and air (rather fun, but not as good as the ground content) make up for it.

I'd love Nintendo to remaster/remake/rerelease Double Dash.

I've never played the Sonic kart racing series but I would love to see another Crash Team Racing game with Naughty Dog in charge, it was like the ideal blend of Diddy Kong Racing and Mario Kart 64.

Yup. Transformed was fun as hell, a sequel would be more than welcome.

I am quited surprised that a third game was not released by now, as the second game was released around the Wii U launch period. That was in 2012.

DId the second game sell well on the Wii U?

I don't know on Wii U, but it sold over a million across all systems.

Transformed was good but I honestly think it should just stick to kart racing. I wasn't a fan of the flight portions of the game.

I'd love a third game, but take away the transformations and just give us a solid cart racer. That or break up the different styles (land, air, water) and have events/races/circuits based on each one instead of the track composed of all three.

I love the first game and would love to see it comeback.

I think it's ridiculous that you still can't select a vehicle - you can only select a character. Also I think the items need to be substantial.

True... even Sonic Riders, a game that wasn't as well received (I liked the first game though), did that.

It's got to have selectable karts/vehicles - it changes the game so much to have a drive and a kart and it doesn't require much more effort on behalf of the development.

Only Kart game I make time for is Mario Kart. I dabbled in some Blur years back but it never took. Am I missing out on Sonic Allstars Racing or is it mainly a niche thing?

As far as kart racers go the two on offer have been fine efforts. Not sure I'd buy another one, but if Sega wants to claw back any semblance of its reputation that would be a start.

Missing out definitely. Nice to have a SEGA Kart Racer that rivals Mario Kart in quality.

You are definitely missing out. I think Sonic Racing Transformed is the best racing game on the Wii U; it's better than Mario Kart 8.

I loved Racing Transformed. It was a blast to play. Been waiting for a sequel but I'm confident I'll be dead by then. Maybe I can lurk in someone's house as a ghost and watch them play the sequel.
