That's DD alone, which is typically more expensive on consoles. You can likely buy for better prices elsewhere. That being said, PC games drop in price nicely, and can be picked up for dirt, dirt cheap on occasion.

Console games not sold on DD drop in price if they are not in high demand really quickly.

Console gamer can sell or trade their games after completing them. PC gamers are stuck with what they purchase, even if it is cheap.

DD is always a rip-off for console games. Old games can usually be found pretty cheap through retail.

Well, if you enjoy the game, sure. I did not care much for Just Cause 2. Yes, i own it on PC but i bought it via disk for like $11.00. In my opinion, it can be tough to fork over money for new PC releases. If you do not like a new console game that you purchased for $60, there is a very big chance that It can be sold for $45-$50 if you sell it within two weeks after release. If you buy a $50-$60 PC game you do not like, you are stuck with it.

Not sure how many others do it, but Green Man Gaming will buy back any games you buy from them (and aren't linked to Steam.) Not much but it's a start.

Honestly, that's kind of the last straw for me as a console owner. 59.99 USD for a game is asking too much for games that you expect to have problems on release day. The only way I get into the latest games is via my PC with services like Steam and D2D. I mean I just got Sonic Generations for 10 bucks while it's still 30 for consoles. While I'm keeping my PS3 for the blu ray functionality, I'm seriously debating selling my xbox. I'll probably just skip the console generation next go around. My GTX 570 will last a few years anyhow.

I own a 360, PS3, and PC (i5 2500k, 560 ti) and probably spend an even amount of time gaming on all three of them, and the PC is definately as buggy as consoles. I mean, I bought Arkham City on the 360 because at launch it was unplayable. I passed on Rage but the PC version flat out didn't work for a very large percentage of the people who bought it.

true... but i have stopped buying new releases through researching the game first. or unless its a known franchise. there should really be no reason to sell back games! unless you didnt research or you're tight for money! but like i said games you bought for $2-$10 shouldnt really hurt you

Can't blame you there. It was stupid how complicated GFWL made getting Arkham City to freakin' patch and be playable.

I assume by very large percentage you just mean people on the internet with outdated drivers. Never had an issue with RAGE except for some pop-in and screen tearing, both of which were fixed quickly. Some were flat out unplayable though. Even I remember those pictures of RAGE with no textures loaded

PC ELITEST THREAD - ALERT!

In the US, NPD estimates that DD has garnered just shy of 50% of the market. However, PC retail is known to be quite popular in parts of Europe, especially in the Eastern area (where PC gaming is incredibly popular).

PC retail is not dead, but the DD market has boomed in recent years.

I assume you have a Nvidia card? Amd put out the wrong drivers for the game which caused issues for most people with AMD cards.

That's DD alone, which is typically more expensive on consoles. You can likely buy for better prices elsewhere. That being said, PC games drop in price nicely, and can be picked up for dirt, dirt cheap on occasion.

rogelio22

Console gamer can sell or trade their games after completing them. PC gamers are stuck with what they purchase, even if it is cheap.

but why would you even wanna sell an awesome game you got for $2.49????

That is his way of saying "If you don't wanna buy it then don't buy it, and why keep a game you have already beat 3 times?" That is another reason I like consoles. I am not stuck with something.......

First one was a lot of fun. I own the second, but i'm waiting to either get a better graphics card or purchase it on the 360 at release. I was gonna upgrade my PC right after Christmas (e8400 and 4870), but I decided to save the money... At least for a short while :P

The retail PC games are also very cheap sometimes... at least here in my city, I don't know why, but I'm fine with that lol, I bought in june this year an Assassin's Creed Brotherhood copy at my local Sam's Club at 129 mexican pesos, and that's like 9 dollars. ::not bad::

Crazy. I know countries like Mexico tend to have cheaper PC games, but that's a pretty big difference.

Yep, I don't know why the PC games are so cheap here, even on release date, the most expensive PC game I ever bought on retail was Civilization 5 at 299 Mexican Pesos, games like NFS Hot Pursuit, Assassin's Creed Brotherhood and The Witcher EE (with a nice cover) are all sub 150 Mexican Pesos, hell, Star Craft 2 cost 99 Mexican Pesos (altough is a 6 months account but still cheap as hell)

They are too expensive. It cringe every time I think of all the games I paid $60 for on consoles.

Wow, i'm movig to Mexico :P Even 300 Pesos is only around $30. When I was in currency exchange, it was typical to remove one zero from a Mexican bill, and it was around the equivalent you were spending in Canadian. It never fluctuated too much.

Still, I don't have it too bad here :P
