The GT5 Demo was simply amazing, the grahpics, framerate and engine sound effects where awesome. I found myself losing race after race because i was just busy admiring how beatuiful the game looks and plays.. This game will be system seller for sure. After playing this and playing Ratchet and clank demo, its just a matter of time before the Playstation brand reclaims its spot as number 1 in gaming not to mention the new $399.99 skuMikeCOD80
Your post was going fine until you said this. Honestly, do you think before you say stuff like this?

[QUOTE="acekicka"]I've never known of any racing game to be a system seller, too small of a niche...except maybe Mario Kart, but who knows...MikeCOD80
What?!?! Dude are you kidding me?! Its well known that Gran Turismo has ALWAYS Been a system seller for Playstation consoles
The combined might of the Playstation lineup is what sold systems, no one game did. It was the insane amout of variety that drew people in.[QUOTE="MikeCOD80"][QUOTE="acekicka"]I've never known of any racing game to be a system seller, too small of a niche...except maybe Mario Kart, but who knows...Spartan070

Gran Turismo games sell more than Halo games.

GT4 sold 6 million copies less though, despite a larger userbase. So the series is in a decline indeedy. I'm not sure it would have as large of an impact as say GT3.

I've never heard anyone say, "I'm buying a PS1, PS2, orPS3, because of GT", maybe Final Fantasy orMetal Gear Solid. Playstation has always been the RPG King, that's why they sell so many units.

Yes but as far as being a system seller, Halo I believe trumps it. 40% of Xbox owners owned Halo 2, that's a bigger percentage than any Mario game ever, even Mario 64. I'd say that's a system seller.[QUOTE="fuzzysquash"][QUOTE="Spartan070"]The only racing game that ever sold systems was Super Mario Kart.Spartan070

Do you even think before you type?

What the hell are you talking about? What does Halo have to do with Gran Turismo? And the game isn't a next installment of xxx racing sim, it's ****ing GRAN TURISMO for God's sake, the pioneer of racing sims.

From how you post, I think the only time someone might take one of your thread semi-seriously if you were praising a Wii or 360 game. GT5 probalby is great but you are not the best spokesperson for that fact on this forum.

Took the words out of my mouth.

Thanks. But GT5 is obviously not going to sell better than GT4.
GT4: 8.8 million (still 1-2 million less than GT1, GT2)
PS3: 5+ million (100 million less than PS2, lolol)
;)
Anyhow, I was saying it won't have the impact of GT3, not GT4. It's a more relevant comparison as it was the premier game on the PS2, the first GT of that "next-gen.".
I think people are losing interest in the series because it's evolving so slowly. When the sales of the next iteration in a series drops 6 million (40% or some such) there's obviously something going on. In comparison the sales difference between GT1 and GT2 is 1.5 million (14%). I mean, GT5 will obviously do well, but I don't think it is as strong a brand as it once was. For the first time ever I believe they're forced to take a major step forward, and I guess we'll see about that. The GT5 demo demo still kinda sucked.
