A PC that performs SAME as the console will last SAME amount of time...the bottom low settings that the console games run at allow this...

And BTW in 3 years time that $900 will be like $150...

But you didnt know? The consoles are like plants...Their resolution AA levels and framerates are growing as years pass...While the PC hardware is getting weaker and weaker like a living organism...

PC prices for the highest end product is still about the same. $1000 for best CPU and $600 for best GPU. Midrange prices have definately fallen though.Lazy_Boy88

The point is that compared to the consoles the medium/low parts are so strong that the high end parts arent needed...
