wow just found out that GS gave ME a 8.5!

Happened with many games.

Maybe because mass effect isnt aaa material to the reviewer.

I disagree. The bosses had more anime-look than realistic looking, theywere suppose to look like that. They looked great I thought. What was so bad about the dragons, its how they attacked and fought?

Heroism has nothing to do with doing that. Picking up a gun is an off way to think of it, trying to do something good is what a hero is. Its has nothing to do with knowing how to point a gun, or lifting heavy things. A child could intervene infront of his mother to protect her from an abrusive father.

Um not every reviewer gave it 9's out of 10. Gamespt in fact were one of the few reviews who said they can't see a game with all the techinical issues like slowdown and glitches getting an 9.0 as well as not liking the combat and vehicles, something I agree with.

Put simply unlike other publications Gamespot didn't fall for the hype.

UT3 didn't get a 9.0 becaus it doesn't deserve it, lack of evolution etc.

GS don't need to be different, they just review games on a strict basis. That's how it is now, that's how it's been for quite a while now (even though it might seem like they've gotten harsher recently) I actually like GS because of it, cuz when a game scores AAA here, you KNOW it's a good game. When you see a site where games get 90+ left and right, you can never be sure which of those games truly deserved those scores.Exeed_Orbit

I havn't got around to play Mass effect yet (Damn you gamefly), but assassins creed is one of the only games that I have seen have glitch warnings in the beginning of the game. I wouldn't think that Mass effect would be to far from assassins creed.
