It looks good, sonic got his speed back. The game reminds me of sonic rush adventure, even though thats on the ds, and is 2d, and this is 3d. The speed, and the platforming seems very similar. Fast paced, and exciting.

im going to pray everynight this sonic game is good.

how Mario made a comeback ?
he never left.
lots of hate for sunshine, although I loved it, and not to mention the countless horrid mario sports games... it had been like 10 years since a real mario game..
They need to get some stuff up of the Wii verison. I know it well not look anywhere as good, but I"m still sure it well look good. Secert Rings had a nice look to it. DragonQuestHero
why not just get the 360 version..
the 360/PS3 version will fail. Sadly.dotWithShoes

Because the motion controls are supposed to be very good. Sonic Team Japan and Dimps are collaborating on the Wii version, and they said that the game will be a showcase of the games control and graphical capabilities.this is SEGAs last chance to bring sonic back to life for me!
if they fail again Im gonna send them a freaking letter deMANding to sell all of Sonics rights to Nintendo!
maybe then we'll see a decent sonic game. at least Ninty knows how to make a good platformer -- 3D or not

Sonic Adventure 2 was better, and besides, the developer of the Sonic Advance and Sonic Rush series are making the Wii version of Sonic Unleashed, so if something goes horribly wrong with the HD versions, the Wii version is in the clear.
most likely, but im not sure running and jumping really fast appeals to gamers much these days??? and why should it those games worked great back in the 16-bit era but cmon now games have gotten way more advanced than 2d side scrollers sadly there is just no need for sonic anymore he just doesnt work[QUOTE="dotWithShoes"]the 360/PS3 version will fail. says who? the simplistic pick up and play nature of the wii and it's software says otherwise. little kids/family games like Viva Pinata sold around 1.5m million, so there is a market for it on the 360 as well.

Dimps is doing the day stages ONLY for the Wii version. Sonic Team Japan is doing the rest of the game.[QUOTE="bigLLL"]most likely, but im not sure running and jumping really fast appeals to gamers much these days??? and why should it those games worked great back in the 16-bit era but cmon now games have gotten way more advanced than 2d side scrollers sadly there is just no need for sonic anymore he just doesnt work[QUOTE="dotWithShoes"]the 360/PS3 version will fail. It looks pretty damn good. My problem with the other 3d sonic games is that they were an absolute train wreck with controls, it was too sensitive and not accurate enough. Going back to the side scroller roots as in this one looks to be a good revitalization for this game. a re-imaginated version of the old games but brought to 3d the way a sonc game was meant to.
As long as when the camera is behind sonic, the controls don't suck, i'll try it out. Looking at the video, you press the bumper buttons to shift left and right, instead of having full control over his movements, and i think that will keep the flow speedy.
shifting camera looks good too, sicne now you control only horizontal movements and jumps instead of front back left and right and jump movements.
I don't know what to think of it. Obviously, the graphics are very clean and smooth, so it's a great looking game, and Sonic actually seems to be going fast, which is a first for a 3D Sonic game. The gameplay seemed to too closely follow the "Hold Right to Win" design of the Sonic Rush titles. Sure, there were the occasional jumping sequences and those "Hit Shoulder Button to Dodge" things, but I'm hoping that as more information comes out, we'll start to see more challenging level designs like from the original 2D Sonics.
I'm digging the camera, though.
Lair, Haze, and Killzone looked good, too...
And this game doesn't really look good at all. It seems like it'll take the course of every 3D Sonic game and have you just push the analog stick forward and occasionally jump and do some other things. The video looks better than most Sonic games because he's going faster than he ever has, there's 2D segments, all the areas look more interesting, and the music fits the game quite nicely.
Yeah, I don't think this game will be much fun to play, honestly... In my opinion, of course.
I was really excited for this game at first, but now it's looking like it could go either way. As others have said, there seems to be very little player input involved, except for the occasional quicktime command (worst gaming trend of the last two gens). Hopefully there will be some actual interactivtiy, but just based on these early trailers it could very well end up being a glorified Dragon's Lair.
