...MGS4 is more of a movie than Mass Effect 2. Seriously Mass Effect got enough gameplay to not be called a movie.
Also You're trying too hard.

So does MGS4. That's why threads like these are dumb.

Makes ya wanna give it a hug doesn't it? :P
The day games stop trying to be like movies will be a great day. If I wanted "cinematic" I'd watch The Godfather.

Don't get me wrong. I wasn't calling MGS4 a movie. I'm saying MGS4 is usually called a movie because it have more cut scenes than gameplay.Well better get use to it.The day games stop trying to be like movies will be a great day. If I wanted "cinematic" I'd watch The Godfather.

This thread is the most fail I've seen on the internet in quite a while. And there is a LOT of fail on the internet at any given moment.:|
TC status: [X] Told [ ] Not ToldPretty sure MGS4 spends more time installing than ME2 does in cutscenes. :?

Mass Effect 2 is not a movie, at all. Neither is MGS4. MGS4 has more gameplay than 95% of all FPS games. The 9 hours of cut-scenes are just the icing. @the person who said ME2 looks and played better: When it comes to visuals, are you talking about PC or 360 version? The PC version is no doubt superior looking, however, I'd say MGS4 looks better than ME2 on 360. Also, MGS4 is the superior game.Gran-Delaysmo5
I was referring to the 360 version looking better, and imo it does which isnt an insult to Kojima or the PS3 seeing as its been 2 years since MGS4 was released.
As for which is better, i'd say ME2 by a long long shot and yes i've played both, but we're all entitled to our opinions.
[QUOTE="jasonharris48"]Well better get use to it. I am. But I think my point still stands. I didn't mean it in a harsh way. It just looks like more devs are going try to make their titles feel and play more cinematic.[QUOTE="DarkLink77"]

It isn't even the best MGS title IMO of course.
I am. But I think my point still stands. I didn't mean it in a harsh way. It just looks like more devs are going try to make their titles feel and play more cinematic. Oh, I know. And I apologize if i came off as harsh. And I'm all for cinematic to a certain extent. But when you start sacrificing game for presentation *coughFFXIIIcough*, then I begin to have a problem. Mass Effect 2 is guilty of it as well.[QUOTE="DarkLink77"][QUOTE="jasonharris48"] Well better get use to it.

Ok, Metal Gear Solid 4 was my favourite game of 2008 (and my favourite PS3 game overall), but even I am not blind to the fact that the game contains large amounts of lengthy cutscenes, dwarfing any cutscenes present in Mass Effect 2. The gameplay-to-cutscene ratio in MGS4 is much lower than it is in ME2 and as posters have already stated, in ME2 you can at least choose what your character says. Does it make either games worse? No, that is merely how they were designed and both prosper from the choices they made
Mass Effect2 its 100% Real time Not many Cinematics (If any at all ) because even the Cinematics have Interaction cant recall any part of Mass effect that i wasent in control exept maybe the intro part of the gameother then that its all gameplay

I am. But I think my point still stands. I didn't mean it in a harsh way. It just looks like more devs are going try to make their titles feel and play more cinematic. One day, movies will try to capture the gaming experience...in ME2, when a cutscene comes up, i put the controller down for 5 seconds before the game lets me choose dialogue
in MGS4, when a cutscene comes up, i put the controller and down and surf the web for 55 minutes
awesome! :o
I've slept during a cutscene in MGS4. There. And I actually enjoy the series...
Also, my opinion of the story aside, Mass Effect 2 still has a better quality in writing which helps. It's also better edited, which also helps...
Pretty sure MGS4 spends more time installing than ME2 does in cutscenes. :?
