I really have no clue of what WOTLK is expected to sell, but it could very well shatter some sales records. Blizzard are Gods, and their forming quite a following :P
Break Records? No breaking any Records?
Deserved? No?
What do you guys think?

WotLK will sell like crazy , after the "dissapointing" WAR (too many left already, EU servers are MED max, most are low, nothing to do after you hit 40...too many bugs..etc etc etc etc...) made WotLK seem more strong than before...I really have no clue of what WOTLK is expected to sell, but it could very well shatter some sales records. Dunno about breaking records , but for sure will be hell of a lot.
Deserved ? Hmm for me no ( PvP wise ) for many yes ( PvE wise). So this is just a taste or opinion. As a game overall.... i think yes. It does.
No, I don't think so. It needs to beat Halo 3's 3.3 million in 24 hours or GTA IV's 3.6 killer million.
And Halo 3 was 10x more hyped than LICH KING, but u never know with WoW + this is expansion, cheap, more byers
i played WoW for a year when it first came out and was addicted.
then played again for about 6 months when the expansion came
then 3 months at the beginning of the year.
not gunna be getting it....wouldnt mind giving it a go but last time i played i couldnt get addicted :(
It's very possible that lich king will hold the first day selling record of any exclusive title, that's not including GTA4, but who knows, maybe the sells of lich king turn out to be weaker than the burning crusade, halo 2 and halo 3.Ncsoftlover
WOLK can't even be said to be exclusive. Despite it barely being on the gaming radar, Mac happens to have WoW, including WOLK.
reading some of the replies really makes me think how much system wars is irrelavant from the real world... WOW:WOTLK not hyped enough? sure.... i hope blizzard releases world wide sales stats.

thats probably one of the most foolish things i've ever read on system wars.

pc stands for personal computer, and it doesn't matter, wow has enough records.

Indeed, Blizzard isn't selling to newbies (they sell WoW to newbies). They are selling WOLK to established players, and if you don't know WOLK is coming out tomorrow as an established player, you've been actively avoiding such information, and being really good at it (not like there isn't several in game events pushing it, an ad right in the startup screen, etc, etc).

Yeah, PC stands for personal computer, but even the mac adversing has divested itself of that in favor of simply Mac. Really, despite the broadness of the term, PC is pretty much solidly associated with Windows on the IBM x86 descendants.Â
10 million in 1 day......
THats right screw the safe bet...i think 10 of the 11 million WOW users will buy the expansion tonight....the other 1 million will take 3 months to finally join the club.jg4xchamp
6 million of those 11 million are from Asia.
It isn't releasing in China tomorrow, which accounts for a great portion of that 6 million, putting the number of players who can buy the game tomorrow, below 10 million. Basically, it just will not sell 10 million.Â
Mark my words, Lich King will sell around 3 million copies in the first 24 hours.
Â
I don't think it will break any recods, I haven't seen any ads for it, it's a 2nd expansions to an old game, I just don't see it being a mega-hit like GeoW2 or BC before it.
No doubt it will sell well tho, whether it deserves it or not I don't know, I've never played wow or much of any other MMO for that matter.
well probably it will, there are 10 million strong playing the old version so why not?
however, wrath of the lich king or the vermin king will not cancel the fact that WoW is by todays standards a hyped up fanboyish old gen gfx game with a lot of marketing, and aggressive sales departement and a bunch of super corps backing it up and splitting the pie including our dear GS.

for me, i stopped reliying on reviews and hypes when it comes to a game where i would invest a tremendous amount of time just to find out that its just about grinding and more of the same at every level... and as a matter of fact, mmo speaking, there are quit a few mmos out there that are x10 better then WoW in almost every aspect, but they do not get the same share of hype from websites like this one for some weired obscure reasons o_O
example : EVE online

but also, there will be a large amount of people re-subscribe to WOW just to try the new contents, and they're not really a part of the 11 million subscribers.but also, there will be a large amount of people re-subscribe to WOW just to try the new contents, and they're not really a part of the 11 million subscribers.NcsoftloverAlright, so technically, there are more than 10 million people who could buy the game (a couple billion to be exact), but I'm still betting on 3 million, plus or minus two hundred thousand. I'm sure it will have more than a 100% adoption rate after Christmas, but for day one, it'll be 3 million.
