[QUOTE="Chrome-"]

[QUOTE="BrunoBRS"] raiden was there in the 2010 version :/ also it's time you guys realize that the game you were hyped for was so bad they gave up on it.BrunoBRS

I just don't want Raiden to sound like a super saiyan on steroids. And who cares if another dev revived the game it should have stayed canceled so it could die with dignity.

for the love of god you guys take your games too seriously. it's a spin-off, how the hell did you guys react to metal gear acid?

Well first of all, Acid was a new experience. Second of all, it didn't replace an incredibly awesome game that I and many other fans were hyped to play.

@ActionRemix but it wasn't a game. It was a gameplay demo. They couldn't do anything with it to even make it a game. Why can't you accept that Kojima and co. must have known better seeing ad they have some experience in making games? It didn't work. It looked cool yes, but in action they couldn't make it work. Let it go man, you'll start to feel better.

I liked what I saw. Looking forward to it.cainetao11
I am also. Nothing looked wrong or gave me the impression that it wouldn't be fun. Heck, Platinum Games are very good developers! Bayonetta and Vanquish are very fun, good looking games, so I'm stoked. I actually enjoyed those two games more than I did MGS4. So good for Platinum taking over the reigns.

[QUOTE="hensothor"]I don't see the difference. Joedgabe

In first gameplay things were besically designed to be cut at will in the angle you want and could be used more strategically. The new gameplay shows it's a combo meter game basically that at the end you'll do a finishing move that he'll just chop the enemies into millions of pieces.

That seems like a leap. How do we know what the game was originally intended to be? It looked like an early tech demo what we initially saw, nothing more. Now we have hardly even seen anything and there are huge assumptions. All I see is a game that has had more added to what was a skeleton of a game in the first place.

Gamers just like to praise Platinumgames. Some haven't even played a game by them. It's cool to love Platinumgames. Kojima Productions' MGSR was miles better. Even the combat animations were 10 times better. The graphics were a ton better as well. Platinum games comes in and lowers the resolution, makes it all fuzzy and filled with jaggies, simplified the combat and combat animations, and gave the game horrendous camera view control. The camera doesn't even adjust when Raiden comes closer to the screen. And this game is suppose to come out in 2012? I'm not bashing PG because it is an action game. MGSR was suppose to be an action game developed by Kojima Pro. It's just that PG made the game worse in every way.

Thanks TC for putting it out there. Just look at those gifs and you can EASILY tell the difference. If you can't, then you guys are in denial. It's cool to love PlatinumGames when all they made were Bayonetta and Vanquish. Not only that, but they don't even know how to release a proper game with someone else's game that has been beloved by fan. Well, at least the franchise. At least make it proper and pay tribute to the MGS fans as well.

Will MGSRR suck? Probably not.. but when compared to Kojima Pro's version.. it does. Just sayin'.

This http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MGLpFgd1VkQ was really just as WTFOMGS as picking up a Metal Gear. If you think to yourself MGR is 7 years after MGS4 and he was able to stop that ship that looks even bigger than a Metal Gear, then it really makes more sense than you think it does especially you know in the timeline technology progressed and such.

Lol this comment is so true:

"You know what have been a lot easier than holding an entire ship back? Pick snake up and move him out of the way...but hey whatever is more dramatic."

And gamers don't like to just praise Kojima Productions? I love Platinum games from experiencing two great games from them, Bayonetta, and VAnquish, which I think are the only two games I've played that are made by them, but right now they are batting 100% fun in my gaming dept.I didn't see anything in those videos that showed that the animations were 10 X better when Kojima was creating it? The combat animations and lower resolutions now due to Platinum games?? Where are you seeing this? So did Kojima just throw away his work, with all the jaggy free, un-choppy animation, and tell Platinum games to start from scratch? I doubt it. I bet they just took over where Kojima left off.

They're using Platinum Games' proprietary engine instead of the Fox engine. PG's engine can't handle the original slice mechanic or original animation assets apparently. Probably because the original game had procedural animation.

Documentary said they switched engines for the sake of Platinum Games being able to work with familiar tools in order to make the best product possible. Or something like that.

The slice mechanic is still there, I don't know about the physics though. Honestly I couldn't tell the two engines apart at first glance, I'm not a huge graphics guy.

The difference is incredibly jarring to me. The new slicing mechanic is no more impressive than Skyward Sword's slicing mechanic.

Idk. We saw a 4 + minute demo demonstrating solely the cutting mechanic in 2010. We've seen only 1 to 2 minutes of total gameplay of 2011, with the slicing mechanic taking a backseat to the actual gameplay, the thing that the 2010 demo actually lacked. I have yet to give a verdict on which "version" of the cutting mechanic is better, because it looks the same to me honestly.

The 2010 version it was the focus, in 2011 it is only part of the overall experience. I still say we wait on more footage of 2011 before giving final verdicts.

I figured it was going to be a hacknslash from the first gameplay footage alone. Why are you so surprised?

Hmm, well put then. So Kojima didn't want to give them the keys to the Fox engine? I've only heard or seen bits of the Fox engine, so I would love to see it in motion. Are there any games currently using that engine?

Yes. I didn't notice any difference between the two, so I agree with you, I'd much rather wait until we get a lot more footage, and info before we cry foul.

You're probably right about Konami not wanting to loan their engine out. The PG people probably wouldn't know how to use it anyway. In the 25 min explanation video, they say that they're under very rigorous deadlines, so using an unfamiliar engine would slow things down. It's a WIP engine, so there's no games that use it, but Kojima showed off its current state at E3. Here's the video if you haven't seen it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HjFWLEBFlOc

I like steath-action games. Kojima Productions makes great stealth-action games. Rising was a stealth action game by Kojima Productions (and on PC!). This was neither a stealth-action game, nor made by Kojima Productions. I think that's reason enough not to be interested anymore.

Thanks. Cool as h3ll. I read an article a while back stating how Japanese developers usually don't license out their tech, or software engines, and how they tend to keep their groundwork in house, so it comes as no surprise that they didn't want to loan their tech.
