Bingo. That's what happens when you let the individual devs do whatever they want with the online part of their games.
I would buy it, but I can't find anywhere that sells those damn PS Store Cards.bez2083
It's available on BD disc for the same price or $60 with the headset.
I have to say I was worried but I unpacked the game got it all loaded and just got done playing for about 3 hours straight and it ran fine and better than I could have imagined. I was in the beta and really didn't know if I wanted to get the game but I would have to say I'm glad I did unpack it and give it a shot. The headset is awesome and after my 3 hour session Socom has come back to life for me. After the beta I thought it was dead for sure, /Six got it together and with a couple more tweaks and features it will supercede most peoples expectations especially if your a old time Socom fan.

What do you mean online part? Its online only... that's all there is... the servers are too over crowded. First day the game played smoothly, by the 2nd it was freezing and having server crashes.

Yeah, just found out it was $40 w/o headset. I was quoted $50 from a Gamestop. They also told me you couldn't DL the game over PSN. Bad information all arond.

when i had my ps3 i experienced the same issue with warhawk. i had trouble connecting for the first 2 weeks and stats wouldn't save. same issue happened with gta4 and MGO and it looks like its plaguing socom too now. this is a big reason why i support paying for live. the service is just that much better and its only $4 a month. never had any issues connecting nor did i ever have to wait 2 weeks for network problems to get sorted out.

[QUOTE="mephisto_11"]PSNLeejjohnoCOD4 was the same for several months on the 360. Gears still sucks online after a couple of years. PSN has nothing to do with your connection.
umm no. cod4 was fine from day one for me.
and the lag issue in gears 1 is not because of the infrastructure but because of the developer. mp in gears was a poorly optimized last minute implementation. there were never any server issue.

but resistance and warhawk ran fine at launch:|ever think it's the dev fault? especially when there has been other games that ran really well at their respected launch on the PSN

so when a 360 game runs like crap on the 360, it's the dev, but when a ps3 game runs crappy, it's the psn???!?!?!!typical lemming respons:roll:

the lag is not a network issue its an optimization issue. the network issues in the games i listed are due to poor infrastructure. gears 1 runs just fine and connects to games almost everytime it just suffers from high ping (250 range). this is not live's fault
if you have played any previous socoms, you will be aware that everyday= a new problem
I already find the maps are too big, they need more socom 2 sized maps
edit: btw I have had no problems today

So you are the only human who has never been disconnected for no reason? Sounds like you are lying a little bit.thats not what i meant. the issues i had with warhawk and those other games were prevalent for weeks after the release date. stats weren't saving and connection attempts were close to 0% successful for the first week or two. everyone has minor disconnection issues here and there, even on pc

But resistance ran aeons better than gears did online at launch, but the PSN is broken right?sigh. I'm talking about PSN vs Live. Not game vs game. look at GTA4 it took about 2 weeks for the connection issues people were having on psn to be fixed. it worked on day 1 on live. since its the same game we can infer that the problem lies in the infrastructure
The only real problem with connecting to socom are the socom servers, nothing to do with PSN.
Despite what you fanboys may think, Socom is a popular game with a lot of hardcore fans that bought the game day 1 and all tried to log on, too much for the servers too handle.
edit: this game most likely won't sell millions but there will be a steady 30,000 people on at a time at primetimes for years to come.
that's why it's 30 bucks. you will pay with frustration for the rest of the game, or more than equivalent of 30 dollars.paullywog
you just need to keep quiet, cause you could not be more wrong.

Yeah, I hate it when developers develop my games.
Tell that to the people that blame the devs instead of the source of the problem, PSN.
